LIPOSUCTION: Several Questions, new member, please help!

Hey guys,

First off i'm Sarah. :)

I just have some queries re liposuction. I have decided to go ahead with outer thighs, inner thighs, lower and upper abdomen AND hips.

I am healthy, I exercise, and am not over weight however these have been stubborn areas to control.

Being that I am not over weight just plump in these areas,

1. how much weight should I expect to lose?
2. How long will it take for the bruises to go, how bad are they?
3. How bad is the pain?
4. If I am a size 10 - 12 now, should I expect to go down half a size, or how good are the results??

I have decided to go along with it because no matter how much i exercise, these areas wont get smaller. I really don't know much about this procedure, any advice you could give would be very much appreciated. Or if anyone has photos to share. Thanks so much !!!

Well, I'm no expert on liposuction, but perhaps I can offer a little advice regarding your inability to shrink your problem areas.

You say:

Well, the red flag that flies up when I read something like this always concerns the diet.

I know I'm stating the obvious, but your food intake is absolutely vital. If you get this procedure, but continue to follow your same habits, those problem areas may just come back.

You can exercise until you're blue in the face, but if your diet isn't appropriate and you're eating too much or too little, it won't do a lick of good :[

Have you talked to any dietitians, nutritionists, or researched where you stand when it comes to your BMI/BMR and calorie intake? I would really recommend trying to tweak your eating habits, while maintaining your exercise, before you get any kind of surgery.

How extensive is your exercise btw? More detail about your regimen would be helpful.
