Lili's Diary

Hi Everyone;

Had a good day. I wrote Oprah Winfrey, that reality show Extreme Makeover, and Habitat for Humanity on behalf of a friend who provides care for 8 wheelchair bound people in her dilapidated, tiny, old house. It used to be a 2 bedroom bungalow but when they married 42 years ago and found out they couldn't have kids of their own, they started fostering kids and building additions to the house. She's now got 8 adults who used to be foster kids and they're all intellectually and physically disabled. She's a saint. So hopefully out of the 3 places, one will bite. I have to do a 5 minute video of her and her family and all the parts of the house to send it to Extreme Makeover, but I doubt they'll consider a house in Canada. My friend and her husband are pensioners so they could really use the help.

Hi Anna...
I didn't understand a word you said in Dutch but meine Deutch ist scheiSSe!

I have no clue where that esszett would be on my key board!

hehe reminds me of my oldest son. My sister was going to holiday in germany, so he let us borrow the language tapes and we learnt a few german words.
Anyway my oldest son was day dreaming in class one day, the teacher called his name but he hadnt noticed. The teacher called his name again, and then again but he was still in his own little world.
Eventually the teacher asked if he understood english angrily, and my son apparently started noticing he was being spoken too.
So when the teacher asked "sprechen Sie Deutsches?" my son replied in perfect german "ja verstehe ich deutsches wenig" (yes i understand a little german) and the entire class peed themselves laughing.
Sorry if my spelling or translation is bad here, its been years since i did any german :D

lol
At least he didn't say meine Deutch ist ScheiSSe!! Makes me think of Hogan's Heroes. Schnell!! Schnell!!

well actually my younger son did that ...
The teacher told the class that she was from germany, did anyone understand german? my son replied in german 'i understand shit german' (hes 5 years old)
