Today we had a retirement luncheon for a 60 year old co-worker who retired but trust me, this doll acts anything but 60. She is super funny, swears like a trucker (sorry T2) and always talked about how much she loves Rick Mercer (comedy guy on Canadian t.v.), Mandy Patinkin (american actor), and all these other men. Oh how we will miss her. The food was super healthy, except for white rice, there were vegetables cooked perfectly, and chicken on skewers. I didn't have cake and didn't even miss it. Amazing how once you string a few days together with no sugar, it completely leaves your system and you lose cravings for it.
But today I reminded myself that an overeating binge can attack when I least expect it. At night, in the afternoon, any time I can have a sudden urge to eat one of my sin foods (won't mention them because I don't want to interfere with anyone's will power). I've found watching movies at home or going out to the movies lead to temptation. I know I might sound weird, but I truly believe I am an addict because I can't have one nice thing and then say "well that was nice, now back to eating healthy". I go on a nose dive of gluttonous frenzy which can last for days. I figure until I am able to have just that one thing and leave it at that, I'm going to abstain altogether from sugar. A few years ago in a club, I saw these two broads in their 50s and they looked super slim and awesome and I asked them "what are you guys doing right?" They laughed and said they don't do sugar. AMEN.
