Hey everyone my name is Lilia!
I'm twenty-one years old and I've joined this community and created this journal in hope that it will help me stay motivated during the next life-changing months.

I want to lose around 45 pounds in the next six months or so but since I am very conscious of the fact that it can take longer I told myself I would try for six months and give myself maximum a year to reach my goal.
I want to go from 169 pounds to 125-120 pounds (which is considered my most healthy weight (a little bit under 22,00 (IMC) meaning I would get sick less easily and have a lot more energy. To get there I eat healthy foods, smaller (real) portions, more fruits and vegetables, I also train everyday (I have a Wii Fit so I do some yoga/muscle training and some boxing), I also have a DVD of Billy Blanks my mother bought a few years ago (I do it everyday or almost), I also try to do some ice skating, walking, hiking and other outdoors activities that will help me get fit and healthy.
To support me I have a quite a few people including my very healthy and fit mum who takes longs walks everyday and pratices Judo over 3 times a week, although I don't live with her, she has tons of tips about health and training is ready to go hicking with me at anytime and in any weather. I also have my wonderful boyfriend who knows what I'm going through after changing his lifestyle and loosing 30 pounds about two years before we met. I also have my very fit cousin (who lives with my boyfriend and I, she is very healthy, very enthousiastic and ready to train with me at almost anytime.
I started this whole eat well, train hard but still have fun program almost four weeks ago. With some trials and errors and discovering what choices help to lose weight and all, I lost around 7 pounds! :hurray:

The reason I want to lose weight is pretty simple, it's because I am not healthy right now. Over the summer my boyfriend and I went hiking and I could only do the easy trails and could barely follow him. I love hikinh and it made me sad that I couldn't do all the hiking trails and that I was stopping my boyfriend from doing them because he felt bad. I want to be able to do the hardest trails and just be healthy!
What is fun though is that I love cooking and that I am mostly the cook at the house (cooking for my boyfriend and my housemates (we live in a house not an appartement). So I am in control of what I am eating!

So that's pretty much it for now!
P.S. By the way sorry if there are some grammar mistakes and such, English isn't my first language!

Hi, Lilia!:)
We definitely are in the same boat! I also recently got the WiiFit, so I'll be adding that into my routine. So far, it's done nothing but make me feel bad! Haha, what an ego booster.

And Billy Blanks? He's the man! My mom loves him. :D

Really well done with the weight you've lost so far!

Keep it up!

The Wii Fit can get anoying sometimes (it was the case for me this morning) but it does help and sometime if only to relax a little!
Lol! I know! Sometimes I get on the Wii Fit and then me ego just deflates but well most of the days it does help!
Billy Blanks is great, although all the muscle scares me sometimes!
Thanks!

I'm going to write about things that happened in the last few weeks, things that frustrated me, made me feel sad or happy.
When I first talked about getting healthy and losing weight to one of my friends, the only thing she had to say was that I didn't need it (the girl must weight about 115lbs and is about my height). That didn't make me feel very good but well I suppose she may not be as conscious as I am about my health. Then, my grandmother who when she saw me told me: "you gained weight! It looks really good on you! You look even prettier!". Wow thanks grandma...I just started trying to lose weight and get healthy yesterday! (The day following me getting my Wii Fit). But she didn't know I wanted to lose weight so I can't blame her, I think she was trying to be nice
Then you have my mum who when she saw me today could tell instantly that I had lost 7-8 pound (how does she do that?). But it's great, even if she can be a little pushy sometimes, I know it's because she cares about me. And she was so happy because my uncle came to visit us and she thought he was a great exemple (he lost 50 pounds over the last year by eating well and training and I could see it instantly!).

I had a little down about training this morning (which isn't surprising after almost four weeks of intense training, I knew it would come at one point. My boyfriend didn't really feel like training so I didn't train in the morning like I usually do. But after dinner my cousin decided she wanted to train and I took my chance to have someone to motivate me and we did 45 minutes of Billy Blanks DVD!
Also for the last 2-3 days I noticed I didn't need to eat much for diner, usually a small salad and some apple sauce and I will last until breakfast the next day!:hurray: So that's what I did I ate some salad and I am going to get my apple sauce in a few minutes.

Oh and yesterday for dinner I had the most wonderful meal = salad and some salmon tartar (fresh uncooked salmon) soooooooo gooood :drool5:

Got to go! :seeya:

Hey Lilia, congrats so far on your progress. Eating healthy is not always the easiest thing, but with good support and motivation, it makes it a bit easier. In regards to your friend, don't allow that to put you down. We ourselves are the biggest critic. Only we know every single flaw, and what we believe should be improved. Take that as a compliment from a good friend who thinks you are beautiful the way you are now. Despite what anyone says, you have set your goals, and this is what you want. The most important aspect of it is that you want this for yourself. Soon enough you'll be pushing the bf up the trails lol.

I'm happy it's going so well for now. It's true we are our biggest critic and it's what makes it hard sometimes. Thanks for commenting it really helps to make me feel better! And I do hope I will be the one pushing my boyfriend up the hiking trails lol :p :willy_nilly:

This morning was a bit strange, I didn't sleep very well and dreamed about eating hot bread which was kind of funny. When I talked about it with my cousin she said she had dreamed about food too and we decided we must have been hungry and it affected our sleep.
So I got up early this morning even though I didn't need to. I took my breakfast:

1/4 cup of cottage cheese
1/2 cup of apple sauce
1 cup of whole grain Mini-Wheats
1 egg
1 cup of orange juice

Then about an hour later I went to do my training! :hurray: and it went really well, I did 20 minutes of Wii Fit (muscle training and yoga) and 40 minutes of Billy Blanks cardio training, I was exhausted but still after taking a shower, I felt full of energy! :hurray:
Then I got ready to go to school and discovered the horrible weather (raining when it should be snowing), it was disgustingly wet! :eek2: My boots got all wet and cold and I hope not to feel sick in the next few days. :banghead:
For lunch I had a sandwich, some juice, some carrots and rice crackers.
As a snack I ate some rasberry jello (with rasberries in it) and some chocolate milk! :beating:
Then for diner I had a taco (extra-lean beef, tomatoes, avocado, letuce, some salsa and a very small amount of cheese. As a dessert I took some apple sauce and shared a light hot chocolate with my boyfriend.
(wow it seems so weird to write about what I ate!)

By the way, I won't be posting my weight everyday, more like every saturday or something like that otherwise it wouldn't show much with the natural weight variation.

Hey Lila,

I'm 20 and a Uni student :) Aiming (I think) to lose around the same amount as you too!

Just stopping by to wish you luck :D

Today started pretty well, although I couldn't do my training in the morning (I had a meeting for a university project). I got up pretty early, had breakfast, weighted myself on the Wii Fit (it's the only scale in the house). Then I got ready to leave. Although the temperature was similar to yesterday, it wasn't raining so it felt better! :hurray:

Breakfast:
- 1 english muffin
- 1 egg
- 2 cups of orange juice
- 1/4 cup of cottage cheese

There is just one thing I'm not really happy about, I ate some candy (berries), not much but enough to make me feel bad. And since the meeting for university project lasted a lot longer, I ended up eating pasta (a friend gave it to me), then when I got home I ate some apple sauce and a glass of vegetable juice to feel good and I decided to eat mostly salad tonight. Anyways, apparently it's better not eat pasta for diner since most of the time you won't have time to use all the energy you've eaten. So tonight: salad, tomatoes, cocombers, some nuts, dried cranberries and some yummy home made salad dressing! :drool5:

Did my training although I'm not satisfied with it yet:
- 20 minutes of Wii Fit (Yoga/Muscle)
- 20 minutes of mad dancing (me dancing alone and doing crazy moves - I also try not to hit anything)
- 10 minutes of elyptic bicycle (cardio training, unfortunalty didn't to more because I felt exhausted)
I hope to do something more tonight....maybe I should fight (not screaming just Judo like fighting) with my boyfriend, he's really good and I usualy end up on the floor pretty quicly but it's fun so :hurray:
Tomorrow is another hard day with tons of things to do I work tomorrow morning, then training, then school and then there is a 3 hours off and another meeting about school work (but this time it's fun because we're talking about a project we did last semester and doing a wrap-up of the whole thing (150 pages - 7 people - creating a museum)
Now I've got to get back to homework so :seeya:

Hello Lilia,

Thanks Nat!
I make sure I eat enough don't worry! I've seen what happens when you go in starvation mode. Some people close to me went through it and well it really doesn't help at all!:svengo: So I'm not taking such a chance!

Good things:
1. I fit into jeans I could not wear about 3 weeks ago! :hurray:
2. My cousin told me she could see I had lost some weight :hurray:
3. I feel healthier already :hurray:

Great job so far! I find it very impressive that you manage to do exercise before school. I ike having my exercise at the very end of the day because then I won't have the "I was too tired from exercising to do x" excuse. Which I would use often... very often! I am like a manic person on the outside, doing 100 things, and a really lazy person on the inside always trying to get me not to do stuff. I am hoping tofully become the active person and not having the lazy person even say anything ;)!

I had the same amount to lose as you and I am halfway, it feels good at 140 but I know I will be happy once I feel skinny and not jus "average" (what is average anyhow? I still see myself as heavy and others depending on their own body weight see me as heavy, or skinny... I want everyone to see me as skinny! Especially myself!).

Have a great day, Camy
