Lifting while rebounding

I have a rebounder that I do my cardio on. There are strength endurance routines that use light weights while bouncing on rebounders.
I'm wondering if this is too much jerking. A person's feet might hit the mat a few times during each lift. The lift would change from easy (body on the way down) to hard (body hitting the map and moving up).
It would definitely not be the ol' steady lift. Maybe it would be OK because the weight is only 1 and 2 pounds?
The questions are 1) is that safe? 2) is it efficient?
