I was told by my friend that if you lift light and do more reps you will get more muscle than if you lift heavy.. is this true? can someone explain to me
for me I dont want to be a body builder with big muscles
like i can do 30lb dumbells for curls and other exercises, but is it better to do them with 20s or 25lbs? and do then more times like if i were to do the 30lbs i would do it 20 sets of 3s but is it better to do the 20lbs with like 20 sets of 5 or something? sorry if im confusing you guys i dont really know how to explain it
a lot of reps is toning muscles right? for me I dont want to be a body builder with big muscles for my sport (softball), so if I do a lot of reps, would that be good? like 2 sets of 25 reps per exercise for example with 60-80% weight that I can lift without it being too heavy or too light?
Being toned or defined is a function of nutrition and body fat reduction, not weight training.
