That´s really interesting (and I´m convinced low-carb diets can be very helpful) but of course a one-day experiment doesn´t extrapolate to full-time, real life circumstances.

your right, but i found it interesting, would like to see a longer term study with a larger sample size

being such a recent study I cannot find a full copy of the study without paying, If I had access I am sure it would say how many carbs.

Middle son will arrive home for a week shortly, he will get to meet his sister for the first time.

struggling badly with my elbow, injection has worn off, physio will evaluate progress this week but not looking good, he thinks hormones will remain a factor while i am breast feeding.

the pain is so bad it is having an effect on my ability to sleep even with pain killers

worried it may never heal. As an elite athlete, sport is a huge part of who you are and when it is taken away from you it can be very hard to deal with. There as been a lot about this problem in the media recently and the effect on some high profile athletes, especially their mental health.

I really feel for you Tru as I think I know how important it is to you to be at your optimal fitness. You are doing what's best for your baby & I feel confident that you will regain your fitness & strength. It may not get back to the level it was, but I feel confident that you will be much fitter & stronger than almost anyone else I know.
It may not work for you, but I am sleeping much sounder since I started massaging magnesium oil into my feet, just before bed time. I get mine from Amazing Oils. It also helps me with pain relief.

exhausted today, just got back from the drive to Brisbane to get son onto the plane to fly back to Canberra

physio has given up, suggested a referral to orthopedic surgeon.

GP has prescribed stronger pain relief because i have been unable to sleep due to pain

You poor thing. Sleep is essential any time, but with a young baby, even more so. Hope things get better for you soon Tru!

hate how I feel after taking pain killers for my elbow and doesn't reduce pain levels very much. Spending more time on one of my hobbies, joined the local camera club and will be going to first meeting tonight and entering my first ever photo comp if I can work out how to correctly mount my entries lol.

I can now get back to having fresh eggs again, our hens have hatched 16 new chicks between them and are no longer broody.

bub is doing well

Did not eat enough yesterday, by the time i got home from camera club it was time to get some sleep otherwise i would have been in no fit state to feed bub at 3 am. and was not willing to eat a carb filled snack when I was out.

I am going to have to be more organised on club nights.

start of the year is always expensive, but finally have all my renewals paid (coaching insurance and sports association memberships etc), not that I am in a fit state to return to coaching at the gym yet, but I need to be optimistic lol. Hubby is still trying to convince me to return to work at the football this season, even if it is because he doesn't want to be without proper treatment when he hurts himself but I don't think I am physically able to do the job again yet and it would mean trying to find someone to look after bub when I am on duty.

We now have bub on the waiting list for child care 1 day per week, so hopefully by the time there is a place I will be fit enough to return to coaching at least 1 day per week.
