Lift, Train, Fitness

That's an adorable baby bunny you have there. Congratulations!

Also, awesome phasmid photo! I have had an interest in macro for a while, but I'm too shaky to want to invest in the equipment.

Little critters are so interesting when you get close to them :) but my next project will be using photo stacking to get improved detail across a more complete depth of field, a shallow depth of field is the hardest thing to contend with when getting macro shots, often only a tiny bit of the insect is in focus when you get in close, limiting light and shutter speed so even a small movement sends everything out of focus lol

Like almost everything you seem to do, you'll soon get the photography of insects down to a fine art. Insects are fascinating. We're not short of subjects to study & admire here, that's for sure.
Your little girl is growing so quickly & is such a sweetie. Is she teething already?

Yes she is showing signs of teething, tooth keeps threatening to break through then settles, one of the reasons she has been a bit irritable but she slep through last night and is happy this morning.

Down another 800 grams, hitting 95% of nutritional targets (7 day average), copper intake has dropped so I can have some more liver :) or possibly some kidneys today.

training went well last night, tonight's deadlift session will be late because hubby has training tonight and youngest son has a grading for his MMA tonight. He is progressing quickly but his concentration and perfectionist nature helps, being Autistic is not all bad lol. I still need to get on the mats to help him with the Judo portion of his training, his instructors are all high ranking Karate people along with massive amounts of Kickboxing and boxing experience but not Judo, as a Shodan I should be teaching him but the twisting is hard on my old injuries.

Using an off camera flash will help with focus on macro shots too. If you're using a macro lens, you can also get the aperture over 12 and take a few steps back - then crop it in post. You don't get the same detail as stacking, but it's less work, lol.

Your daughter is beautiful!

I am using fixed lighting and soft box with the canon 100 L macro lens for the indoor shots , would like to get into ultra macro

Your kiddo is so cute. Those bunny ears!

Tru, I know you have a lot of experience with powerlifting, but you also talk a lot about martial arts. Is that also a big hobby/activity for you? I only ask because I'm kind of interested in taking it up, but I'm not sure how it fit it in with everything else I'm doing and I suck as making choices and cutting things out.

Martial arts is great fun and great for fitness, but it important to choose one that suit you. I started Judo at the age of 5 and stopped in my early 20s soon after tearing the ligaments in my right knee preparing for the Olympic selection trials. Judo favours the stockier stronger athlete where as the mixed martial arts my son does and is coached by a very high ranked friend favours a more agile build and teaches how to use all the fun weapons. However all styles work on bodyweight classes if full contact.

As for last night my son graded and also received 3 out of 4 possible exceptional ability stripes on his belt and was one of the opponents for the person doing their grading for black (10 X 3 minute rounds, with only enough time between rounds to change opponents) all rounds were full contact including grappling, joint locks and chokes. This was after the rest of the grading including the fitness tests (10 k run, pushups, situps etc.)

My role there was official photographer, got some good action shots, which I should be transferring to the computer at the moment so I can take them into the gym shortly lol rather than typing on here :D

I spent most of the morning at the gym helping out with and introductory ladies self defence class, and getting more photo's before doing my deadlift training session that I put off from last night. There is nothing quite like lifting when your whole body aches with 2nd day DOMS :D

Love the photo, Tru & love that you help out with a women's self-defence class. Are you sure you don't want to move down to Tasmania?

I would love to move to tassie, the climate suits me better than up here but this is where work is for hubby.

I didn't mention it the other day but on Monday night I was parked outside a local church checking my phone when I had a bloke try to open the back door of my car, it pays to stay alert and keep car doors locked when stopping at night, because no matter how well trained you are, that training is negated if a creep gets in your car behind you.

Why do some people think they have rights to other people´s stuff? (Including, sometimes, their bodies?) I´m glad nothing happened.

That's scary Tru! You're a smart woman though. I usually lock the door at night if I'm on my own, but don't think to during the day.

yesterday was my higher carb day, kept it under 50 grams which is still keto levels rather than my usual 20 gram limit bet even with the extra my weekly average is 17 grams. Not quite hitting my protein targets based on averages (short by 3.3 grams). Hitting 95% of nutritional targets, sodium is still low.

This afternoon we have to go to a barbie at hubby's rural fire brigade station, hopefully I can avoid hidden carbs, cheap snags have sooooo many fillers other than meat.

That monster eel is amazing :D
I feel you on the unknown foodstuffs, though my problem is usually hipsters finding novel ways of hiding allergens :p

What if I just do everything in converse? :p

That's so scary about that creep who tried to get in your car. Yikes. I'm glad nothing happened.
