Lift, Train, Fitness

Its been a rough summer here as well. Its still in the high 80's and 90's. Today way miserable. Humidity was about 95% outside was very oven like. Winter please hurry......

looks like another hot one today. this afternoon hubby and I will be driving to Nanango to pick up a juvenile white peafowl for our flock (ostentation). young white birds can't be sexed visually and need DNA testing to be sure, so bird will be un-sexed, but hope for a hen.

our pied and blue hens are showing signs of wanting to nest (we hope). It has been hard on my poor brain getting my mind around peacock genetics when it comes to mutations, but If i have it worked out correctly I should expect dark pied chicks from our pied hen and pure blue cock.

last few days have been super hot and a big struggle to cope, supposed to be a bit cooler today. will have next pregnancy checkup during the week.

It has been much more comfortable weather wise today with a sprinkle of rain (not enough to penetrate the surface of the dust, or put water in the tank)

Lots of kicks today and exhaustion levels are high

not real happy after appointment at the maternity clinic yesterday, looking much more likely I am going to have to have a C section because bub is still not in the right position :( head downish but still transverse, I have 1 more scan next week. If I get cut open my ability to lift at the elite level again will be almost impossible.

On the up side a friend just broke her first World Record Deadlift of 183kg (just over 3 times body weight) at the International Powerlifting Federation 26th Women's and 34th Men's World Masters Powerlifting Championships in the 57 kg masters II division.

C'mon mini tru. Do the right thing & stretch up with your toes! I hope she wiggles into the right position for you Tru!
Well done to your friend. That is amazing!

I think that the worst part of the appointment was not the fact I may have to be cut open (that's bad enough) but the docs reaction to my reason why, treating it as if it was irrelevant with comments like "just don't lift weights anymore" and couldn't understand why I might just be a little upset over it. Lifting is a big part of my life, and is my outlet for dealing with the stress which comes from having 3 autistic sons and a mother with terminal cancer. I have been able to cope with not lifting during the pregnancy (just) only because I could see a return to lifting at the end.

C sections aren't near as bad as they used to be. My daughter had to have one and the cut was a bikini line and she hasn't had much trouble. She's gotten back into martial arts and it doesn't bother her at all. Maybe it has something to do with the muscles they cut into.... The new procedure compared to the old.

It is not the actual surgery that bothers me, and yes they do cut lower now, but the cut still has to go through the abdominal muscles which are put under incredible pressure by lifters at an elite level. When lifting heavy a power-lifter will create a "block" building up a large amount of pressure in the abdominal cavity to prevent spinal collapse and injury. Occasionally they will not cut the abdominal muscle but separate them which also causes problems for lifters, there are a lot of female lifters who have need surgery to repair abdominal separation. The abdominal muscles are not just what people think of as the six pack.

Ahh i c. In that case you would putting more of a strain on the muscles than she does.

I can barely walk today, massive amounts of pressure down low, scan Wednesday, wish time would speed up.

another stinking hot day, 32 degrees leaving the house at 9 am to take son to work, 34 half an hour later when I got home :( (measured on my shaded verandah)

heartburn is bad today and didn't sleep well last night but hanging in there,
