Hey My name is Erica, This is the 2nd or 3rd time Ive tried to track my weight loss on exercise here. I guess each time I either lost interest or things came up that were more important. If I can stick to this diary thing I think I may be able to stick with the weight loss too. Im 25 years old and 5'5" tall 136lbs. I know Im not overweight for my height but I use to be a lot smaller so Im just not comfortable at this weight. I also dont feel like Im in shape at all, I dont currently work out and my physical activity is pretty minimal right now. My DBF is a junk food junkie and some of his habits have kind of rubbed off on me in the last 2 years. I also love food lol so that contributes to it a lot. I wouldnt say I use food as reward or eat because of stress but I do eat out of boredom sometimes. My goal is to lose 16lbs within 2 months starting today. Im not good at the calorie counting thing so Im just going to eat healthy and work out 3-5 times a week in our apartment fitness center and see where that gets me. I will try to avoid fast food and a lot of processed food and eat locally and organic as much as I can. DBF has agreed to start working out with me sometimes too so that will help. Anyway heres how today went:

Breakfast: Chickfila Bagel with Cream cheese and fruit (apples, oranges, strawberries and grapes) and 12 oz cup of coffee with creamer.
I realize this isnt the healthiest breakfast, but this was right before we went grocery shopping and I figured it was healthier than anything else on their menu.

Lunch: Salad- Spring mix, celery, tomato, Cucumber, about half a small box of raisins, pumpkin seeds, sea salt, pepper, a pinch of cayenne, with light balsamic dressing.

Dinner: I made brown rice with only a little light margarine and sea salt, and steamed broccoli with light margarine and lemon juice, baked salmon filet with marinade: light soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, sea salt, pepper, wildflower honey, and lemon juice (yum!).

I was a little busy today so didn't eat any snacks
Drinks other than the coffee was water and homemade iced green tea sweetened with Stevia.

Exercise: 20 mins on the elliptical and then DBF and I played water volleyball for about 30 mins and swam a little. I must say this is the most exercise Ive had in awhile!

So far so good today! :D

Edit:Also forgot to add, Im not really that concerned about the weight but more being in shape again. I used to have a little 4 pack and have muscle tone and thats what I want again, so if I dont get to 120 but I look the way I want to look thats fine too :)

I meant to write yesterday, but my arms were so sore last night from playing water volleyball I could barely type! :hurray:

Breakfast- 1 cup Greek yogurt with about 1/4 cup blueberries, tbs wildflower honey, 5 almonds sliced, half a packet of raisins, dash of cinnamon.

Lunch- Half a Tuna Sandwich (white albacore tuna in water, Tbs Greek yogurt, tbs light mayo, tbs diced vidalia onion, tbs diced celery, dash of red wine vinegar because we didnt have any pickles) with lettuce and sliced tomato, sea salt and pepper on whole wheat bread. Side of sliced tomatoes topped with sea salt and pepper and half a peach.

Snack- 8 raw almonds and a packet of raisins

Dinner- Can of Tomato Basil Bisque soup with a tbs Greek yogurt and 3 crackers.

Exercise- The lock on our fitness center is messed up so we couldn't get in so we played water volley ball for 45 mins and swam about 5 laps which honestly was probably a better workout anyway!

Drinks- Cup of coffee with Stevia and fat free Caramel Machiatto creamer with breakfast, water and iced green tea throughout the day.

So yesterday DBF's parents surprised us with a visit from Alabama and my routine got thrown out of whack a little. I didnt eat lunch because we found out they were coming only an hour before they got here and we had to clean up the house a little. When they got here we did go to eat and I did fairly well though. Although I didnt work out yesterday and I also had 2 glasses of wine last night :/ oh well I guess that will be one of my off days since I plan on working out 5 days a week.

Breakfast- 1 cup Greek yogurt, 1/4 blueberries, tbs wildflower honey, and pumpkin seeds and 8 almonds.
Early Dinner- I ordered the Grilled Salmon with turnip greens which I ate first so I was kinda full and only had room for less than half the baked potato. Drank Coke Zero with dinner.

2 full glasses of white zinfandel later on that night... I think I drank almost as many calories as I ate yesterday lol, and Water was the only other drink I had all day. :beerchug:
 
Hi Erica

I'm on my 4th attempt here myself so I'm not sure I'm qualified to give any advice lol. But what I am qualified to do is say YAY great start!!!! :D

Keep it up, you can do it and achieve your goals! :)

I know I havent written in awhile, things have been so hectic lately. We went to the beach this past weekend and to New Orleans... needless to say I didnt work out or eat right. However I probably walked about 5 miles or more in New Orleans and we also rented one of those water bike things at the beach where you bike on the water and its like this huge tricycle so I got some exercise there. I also just got a new job today and I start tomorrow. Its 8:30 to 5:30 so Ill have to start working out at night now. I wont post what Ive eaten but just trust me... not good at all. I did weigh myself though and I lost 3 lbs!!! Yay
 
I love it when you've not been as good as you should and you still lose lbs. The diet deity smiles down on us and moves the scales, I swear it :D
