Let the Reboot Begin

Today was a good day.

Food: orange, 2 HB eggs, blueberries, protein shake, cacao nibs, tuna, tilapia, lemon, cauliflower, carrots, mushrooms. *3 foods from list*
I walked 40 minutes at the park with my dog (knee is not happy with me about it, though) *40 min outside*

Gratitude List:
Healthy child, Caring spouse, sunshine, nature

I'm considering trying stationary bike tomorrow. Or maybe swimming. The walking is still a bit much on my knee, especially for long periods of time.

I tried the cacao nibs! I'll get a pic up tomorrow. They are interesting! They taste a bit like unsweetened chocolate, banana, and nut. Crunchy. I put them in my protein shake and they gave it a little snap. They are super bitter.

Think I'll go to bed early tonight. I'm reading this mystery/thriller novel My Sister's Grave and it's getting to the good part so I'm looking forward to just falling asleep while reading it.

You're off to such a great start! :hurray:

Keep it up and you will be mastering one mini goal after another! :seeya:*High Five!*

I LOVE to read as well.. So relaxing and good for ya! ;)

My newest thing is coloring... (we have a few members here that are also doing it and we have a thread in Off-Topic area)

Truly helping me with my anxiety issues and insomnia!

I used to love doing paint by numbers! I may have to take a trip to Hobby Lobby and see if they have any cool ones.

That novel is pretty good. Worth a read (I read it for free through the amazon library).

Thanks for stopping in! Have a great day! :)

Woke up this morning and my knee is definitely NOT happy with yesterday's walk. :(

I made a Dr's appointment. Think it's time to see the ortho ... so for now, I am just resting it. It's really frustrating to not even be able to walk my dog at the park! It's amazing the things we take for granted in life until something happens and we can't do them anymore. I need to be grateful for what I can do, I suppose, which is at the very least sit in this chair and write in my diary and have a nice warm house and a good family.

Moving right along ...

Here are the cocoa nibs! Taste is a combo of nut, cocoa, and banana (IMO) Very bitter.

Plan for today: stay on track with diet - won't be too hard with this knee as a constant reminder. Go to my Dr's appt. Hopefully referral for ortho. Take it easy. Count my blessings.

*prayers for your knee!* :grouphug:

I hear ya re: walking dog.
My ZuZu has missed out bc of my dumb feet!

Once I can get well she will get a much needed park visit!

I'm sorry that your knee is giving you grief Abby. I hope you can get that sorted out soon. It is good to focus on the positives & you are doing well with that. A safe & loving environment is so important. Take care xo

Thank you, Stacy & cate! :) I appreciate your support!

I went to the Dr and she gave me a referral, so I am just waiting for them to call... in the meantime, bought a good knee brace and some supplements!

I didn't do much today, tbh. I had some pretty severe cravings tonight (damn PMS), but just told myself that next week is my birthday, and I will go out to eat and have whatever I like - I can wait until then. Now I'm sipping on zero calorie lemonade and listening to my dog chomp down a rawhide, lol.

Diet today: protein shake, blueberries, cacao nibs, spinach salad, tilapia, carrots, mushrooms, walnuts, almonds. I really love the 100 calorie packs of nuts! I can easily way overeat nuts, so the packs keep me in check. They are a bit more pricy, but at this stage, worth it.

Gratitude: Today I am grateful that I have the means to see a Dr when I am hurt. Not everyone is so privileged. I'm grateful to have a daughter who is growing up to be a thoughtful, young woman who champions other strong women. And I am grateful that my amaryllis lived long enough to open and dazzle me with its red brilliance!!!!

I need to get these. It's really easy to go back to the container and sneak a few more nuts. If I had to open a whole new package though, I probably wouldn't. lol!

Love your pics! Very nice! :)

Hey. So, I know I was all 'Science is cool' on my own diary after your comment. But to honest, I'm not that interested in science and endorphin levels and this and that. I mean, we are all animals. We survive on instinct. Sunlight is good. Veg is good. Sleep is good. We know this. Bright coloured celery. It appeals.

Anyway. I also believe in camouflage. I think all of us here suffering with a weight problem are animals in camouflage. To delay mating, to cope with trauma, to cut ourselves off from interaction, I don't know. Camoflauge. It's mad stuff.

Some nuts are easier for me to overeat than others, like macadamias! Mmmm love them! But yeah, in general I will just eat way too many. The packs at least give me a cue when I'm starting to push it!

Camouflage, eh? Well, I have definitely had a few traumas (who hasn't?), and tbh I could stand more mating, for sure. In fact me and the hubs need to get in touch with our inner bonobos and have a good animalistic mate session! Sigh, but you know - kids and work and this excuse and that one. I like your insight, though, and I think there's a good bit of truth in it.

I could get my current size in all of these, but I just refuse to buy any more clothes bigger than a size 10.

Yesterday was OK. PMS craving really bad. I gave in a little and went above my calorie goal. Total cals for the day were 1800. I did track the extra cals and I think that helped me keep them a bit in control. Not a catastrophic number, just not my goal number. Still, scale says I'm up to 189 (previously at 186). So getting back on track today and sticking to my calorie goal.

I still ate pretty healthy yesterday. In case you are curious, the splurge was on oven-baked waffle fries with mozzarella cheese.

Spinach salad: 4 oz chicken breast, mushrooms, blueberries, and 2 tbsp lite raspberry vinaigrette
= 210 calories / 30.5 g protein / 14.1 carbs

Tonight I'm having a "Girls Night Away." Meeting my gf's at 1:30 for lunch (Panera Bread) then staying at the hotel tonight and coming home in the morning. I've already been researching Panera's menu so I can keep track. Hardest part will be this evenings dinner and any girl sugar splurging.

Just gotta stay strong. Hope yall have a great weekend!

Your salad looks really pretty in the previous post...but I can't stand fruit in salads. I don't know why. How's the knee?

Hi everyone! Thanks for your continued support!!!

Well, the weekend with the girls was NOT good food wise, but I had a great time. The real kicker, though, was when my parents showed up to surprise me. We had a great week, but my mom LOVES to cook.

Needless to say, I am back to weighing 192. :(

So, starting over. Rebooting my reboot. Today is Day 1.

My knee is actually doing a little better. I had a huge job this past weekend and I was super careful with it. A bit sore the next day, but it seems a little better than a few weeks ago. I have an appointment with the ortho on Thursday.
