Leg muscle strength

Hi

I am interested in learning any good weight training techniques involving specificly the leg muscles.
I train at home (I use spin bike for cardio and i have a 5kg dumb bell for really basic muscle building in the arms).
Are there any good exercises for the legs that i can use my (1) 5kg dumbbell ?

Lunges, Various types of squats (pistol squats, jump squats).

Ideally you'd be better with some weight but you can still get a workout in.
 
one 5kg dumbbell? you know dumbbells are usually sold and used in pairs right?

and 11 pounds isn't much weight at all...my wife barely has a use for 11lb dumbbells.

and for legs? forget about it. the legs are used to heavy forces. your dumbbell is no more than a jug of milk.

i'd just stick to bodyweight exercises until you can purchase more weights or join a gym.
 
Join a gym and ask the instructor/trainer to show you how to do a barbell squat.

5 kg is too light to work the legs and get any gains. The other thing is that you have only one tiny dumbbell. If you have a pair of dumbbells you can do lunges.

yeah 5kg is nothing for leg muscles, join and gym or invest in some bigger weights if you want to build leg muscles quickly
