Left bicep seems to be lagging :O

I was working out with my DBs today, fun. Anyway I noticed that while doing curls both my biceps seem to be not getting anywhere. My diets the same as it was, and my reps are still 3x8 curls. But it's especially my left bicep, and it also has a big 'dent' in the side, which isn't really a problem, but that will go away a bit with more work right? Thanks..

Funny! I have the same issue but my right bicep is significantly weaker and smaller than my left. Someone once told me that weight lifters are the best compensators. Which basically means if your arm is lagging you will find a way to move your body or shift your body to compensate the weight. My suggestion would be to watch your form closely and make sure your not cheating.

Also, I would recommend never doing a full day of biceps or a full day of triceps for that matter. When you set a day aside for a tiny muscle like the bicep or a tricep its just wasting time. What I will typically do is a back/bicep day or a chest/tricep day. If you start with back by the time you get to working your biceps they should be good and tired so it won't take much to give them a good pump. Hope that helps.

Yes that helped. Thanks :D
Also in responce to Karky I am basically doing:
Bicep curls
Alternate curls
and occasionally concentration curls
Apart from when using the gym, I have no other exercises. Can you recommend some?

apart from when using the gym.. so you have a membership? what do you do at the gym.

Basicly, the body is a complex thing. if you work only your biceps, they wont get big without working other parts of the body aswell. Exercises like squats and deadlifts put alot of preassure on the body, which causes the body to send out hormones that will not only make your legs and back (which squats and deads mostly work) grow, but your entire body!

Also, one argument is that your arms will only be as large as the back will let them. The biceps are really "made" to assist in heavy pulling movements like bendt over rows (google exercise names if you dont know them, to get an idea) so if you got a weak upper back, it makes no sence for the body to get strong big biceps ;)
Also, some say your arms will be as big as they need to be, so when you can bench, row, chin and military press high ammounts of weight, your arms will be bigger, because they need to be.

Search "full body workout" on this site, and it should give you some ideas of what to do with 3 days in the gym working the entire body (which is probobly what you need)

Yeah, I have gym membership. Although I can't consistantly go 3 times per week. In gym I mainly use the machines, as the health club seems to have a taboo over using the free weights at under 16, and even then really they don't like you doing them. I do a full body workout on the machines, 3 sets of 8, or 5 of 10. Then with my beloved dumbells I do full body workout which people have said is good. 3 x 8. Maybe need heavier weight though.

I had the same problem with my left arm when i started out.

After a month or 2 it caught up and now is just as big as my right, and also a little stronger(not sure why that is).

Just keep at it and it will all balance out in the end, with proper form, nutrition etc.
