Learning to Love My Body!

Hey!
I want to start this diary as a motivation for me and my goals. I'm 26 years old, 5.1" tall and I weigh 132.00 lbs as of today. At the beginning of 2009 I weighed 146.00. I managed to lose 20 lbs by April 2009 and I've gained back the 7 lbs. I absolutely loved myself at 125 lbs and my goal is to get back to that number!
What I did to lose 20 lbs was really simple. I counted calories and went to the gym every single day and I created a calorie deficit to drop the pounds. I haven't stopped going to the gym - I go 5 days a week (sometimes 4).
BUT I'm not as strict with the food habits as I used to be. I don't want to be as crazy about it as I used to be anyway! :willy_nilly:
It's really difficult to maintain that as a lifestyle!
SO my goal is to eat healthy and count calories and work out! Also, last year I did a LOT of HIIT at the gym and this year I'm not doing it... :p I guess I'm a little lazy for that now?
I'm hoping I find some motivation here to get back to doing HIIT...!

ONE LAST THING -
My goal this year is to not only lose weight but to start loving my body. I have lately realized that it's become a habit to criticize my body every time I look at myself in the mirror and it's very very difficult for me to even like my body, forget loving it.
I keep saying to myself that I WILL love my body once I'm so and so pounds lighter but I'm sure that's not how it should be and I should love my body the way it is...! I don't know how to go about it so again I hope to find suggestions for the same here...!
Looking forward to being able to keep myself motivated and happy about my body from here on! :hurray:

I was on the Crosstrainer for an hour and burnt 500 calories + I did a full body work out (biceps, triceps, shoulders, chest, back, abs, obliques and legs) I do 2 sets of 15 with 5lbs weights.
I had subway for lunch (oven roasted chicken breast and light chips) and salty pancakes (indian thing) with spinach for dinner. In between I had tea and my 100 calorie snack!
I thought I did pretty well :)
I'm also going to start praising my body every morning!

On a different note.. I'm an aspiring designer and I completed my first sewing project on the sewing machine yesterday! Came out quite well! Woohoo! :)

I'm off to the gym now...only cardio today.. No weights!

So I've been MIA because I was busy moving ALL weekend! I haven't been to the gym but I think I got enough of a workout! :) I guess the key is that I feel great! I can always feel my body getting lazy etc when I don't work out and eat too much.
So my work starts tomorrow and the gym from our house is a couple of ours away! We have already starting buying things for the home gym but we are waiting for the cardio equipment now! Oh well! I'll see what I can do! (Its freezing out here to do anything outside!)


are you working all of your muscle groups with the same weight ?

I do eveything with the same weight (5 LB) except the obliques for which I use 8! I used to do everything with 10 LB but it was too heavy!! :)
 
Alright then,

Job started.
Moved into a new house with no gym around.

I'm watching my calories and I eat between 1200-1300 calories a day and I hope I can maintain my weight till the treadmill is put together in our basement! :) I'm going to buy some Yoga dvds as I want to start doing yoga in the mornings now.
I hope that goes well!

I'm going to buy them TODAY so I can start from tomorrow! (don't want to put it off even for a day!)

It would be kinda nice to have some people talk about their goals and encourage me too! (of course I would do the same!)

ABOUT ME:
I'm a 26 year old girl. I work in IT with a major pharma company. I'm working on starting my own clothing line. I'm a newlywed. :) I got married in Oct 2009. My husband is the most encouraging and amazing man ever. We both maintain a very healthy lifestyle. We work in the same company (but not in the same department). That's a little background on me... ! :)
 
OK,

I STUCK TO MY PLAN!!! Woohoo! :)
I bought 3 dvds. I bought 2 and got one free actually. I bought the "Element: AM and PM Yoga" and Bollywood Burn! After work I did 15 minutes of Bollywood burn and 30 mins of PM Yoga! I felt soooo good! Almost pumped and relaxed at the same time! :)
Watched my calories. I live by the 100 calorie snacks!! SO good and gives me a LOT of control!
This morning I did AM yoga!! Ahhhh I love it! (I love my body)

I did notice though, that my body feels REALLY heavy! Both evenings and mornings!! I can especially notice it when I do yoga! Hopefully I'm on my way to feeling lighter!!

I'm getting back to the salad lunch BUT I'm already starving!!!!!! NOT GOOD!
My lunch salad consisted of:
Spinach
Lettuce
Carrots
Cucumber
Olives (Black and Green)
Fresh peppers
and Balsamic Vinegar dressing!

I wonder if that's not enough!


GOALS:

CW - 133.4
GW - 125 (02/26/10)

Let's see how that goes.

I weighed myself this morning - I'm 133.4. Alright, all the more reason to be motivated. I can't wait to hit the 120's! :)
Snowing today so I'm at home! I did some AM yoga, left for work and my car spun out into someone's property. So I came back home. Oh well. I'm working on my designing till I get my work laptop here.
My body's hurting after the 30 mins bollywood burn that I did last night and the yoga! BUT it's a great feeling! :)

Last night I did the 500 calorie burn off! My body aches but I don't care because this morning I weighed 132.0 lbs!!!! Yayyyy! :)
Slow and Steady!
Started off the day with Yoga again, I'm begining to like it and I can do it more easily now! I'm trying to convince my husband to get us the cybex arc trainer (750A) for the home gym.
His exact words "If we get that $7000.00 elliptical, your ass better be on it every day until you die"

NO PRESSURE right? :S I'll be on it everyday alright! ;) I love it!
 
I'm bad at logging during weekends! :)

I'm really happy with how things are with me right now! I have actually started looking at the mirror and thinking "I'm not that bad"! That's actually a GREAT improvement for me. I guess the key is working out consistently and eating small portions! :)

I've been doing dinner at 6:30-7:00 in order to be in bed by 9:30. I love that!
I started going to my old gym since I FEEL the need to be on an elliptical rather than jump around in my living room. lol

Anyway, I'm going to go to the gym in the evenings till I get my elliptical at home :p.

I'm up since 4:45 AM today for a meeting. I'll do some AM yoga before going to work!

Keeping the calories LOW LOW LOW....

Different muscles need to be worked with different weights, 5 lb is ok as a starting weight for smaller muscles but you need to challenge each muscle to see improvement.

I have a weigh in on Friday for the February challenge and my goal for this week is 130.0! :p
Been doing good! I did HIIT this morning at home but I could only do 4 sprints!! :O
I'll have to work my way up to 10 sprints!

That's true! I'm definitely going to keep that in mind but lately I've just been doing cardio due to lack of time and resources! :p

This is funny - I feel like no one reads my diary :(
(even though I have 199 views) I would so love to get encouragement and commets etc but oh well!
We have our weigh in for the Feb challenge! I'm excited! I cant wait to hit the 120(S)...I HAVE to remember that! I put sticky notes at my work place that say "120" "drink water" etc and my phone's wallpaper is "120" LOL
So we went to Olive Garden for dinner! I checked the calories beforehand for the menu - it's NUTS!! The only sane thing I saw was Linguini alla Marinara! (THE LUNCH portion was like 310 calories) I got the lunch portion which looked like a kids menu item as compared to the dinner portions!
I hope NJ makes it mandatory for restaurants to display calories in the menu! Life will become so much easier! NY does it!! Why not NJ?
Anyway, I'm going to do my 3 hour trip to the gym this evening - 2 hours back and forth and one for the actual work out. I'm glad my membership end on the 20 Feb. After that, I either get an elliptical or a new gym membership! :)

Well done make the most of the restaurant meal selections, I do understand the long trips to the gym, I have two gyms I need to go to and one of them is a 3.5 hour drive each way.

I would go MAD with a 3.5 hour drive!!! I'd do it if I was paid though! :D

I"M SO SO SO SO happy!
I hit the 120(s) this morning! I'm 129.4 lbs!
It's great knowing that the hardwork pays off.
From tomorrow onwards I'll be posting my intake for the previous day as I didn't realize that my phone application where I log my calories allows me to share it!
I didnt post it until now cuz I really couldnt be bothered to do it twice ;)

Yay!! Life is good!

I just found your journal today:) Congratulations on hitting the 120's! Wow, you drive that far to the gym? Sounds like quite a trip (but then, I work out at home, so I don't really know:) ). It's a good goal, loving your body!

Willlose - We're actually in the process of building a home gym! (can't wait) so hopefully I'll stop my lond drives soon!

Weekend - I WASN'T the best! I could've made smarter choices!

I didn't GO way over but it's a double whammy when I don't work out AND don't eat too well! :D I was 129.8 on SUNDAY evening after the superbowl party so I'm not too sad!

GYM tonight! :D
