Hi everyone! :)

My name is Maria. I'm 23 years old.
I graduated high school this year and now I'm busy of building up my music career.

I decided to declare my 2008 - the year of fitness and beauty! :coolgleamA:
I want to pay much more attention to my health, body, good look and to feel more energy, power and confidence in myself!


My parameters:
Height: 170cm
Weight: 74.30kg
Bust-Waist-Hips: 98-83-105cm

I plan to lose 10-12kg for one year, using methods of regular fitness trainings and healthy food habits.


I know the path could be quite difficult, but very exciting as well! :)

So here what I decided to do this upcoming week:

Fitness:
3 times a week - 2 muscles trainings in gym and 3 cardio training (40min)
I haven't visited gym regulary for quite a while already.

Food:
1 portion of fresh vegetables everyday. (salads)
1-2 fruits everyday.
4-5 glasses of pure water. (not tea)

Changing food habits is the most difficult part for me now. Usually I'm too tired or lazy to make some nice and healthy meal, so I just grasp what is near and easy to eat quickly (especially when I return home extremely hungry). I eat very little of fresh vegetables and fruits - I usually eat salted vegetables, which are not so healthy. I drink much tea instead of pure still water. And very often I snack late at night - especially when I have to work on computer and being stressed, depressed or even happy. Also I have chocolate and cheese addiction - sometimes I can eat lots of it! I don't plan not to eat chocolate and cheese at all, but their amount should be seriously deminished.

Here is me for today:



At the beginning of this month I began regullary write down what and when I eat and drink each day and put "+" when a meal is healthy or "-" if it's not. Also I add pluses when I have a training. Well, for now there are more "-"... *sigh*

At the end of the week I will re-check my parameters.

Any comments are very welcomed! :)
If you feel that I'm doing something wrong, feel free to point! I'm very thankful for any advice.

hello and welcome!!! Just wanted to stop to say hey. Hope that your doing good! Are you planning on eatting any meat(chicken or fish) in your diet?

Well yes, I plan to eat fish, as I like it very much. I'm not quite sure about chicken meat, because I'm not so comfortable in eating bird's meat, I don't know yet. But as I heard, chicken's meat is very good for muscles, isn't it?

i'm not sure about the chicken... i was just making sure you were going to get some kind of protein!
 
Oh one more question, please?

I've just calculated my Basal Metabolic Rate on this site and got 1,563.30 calories. Does this mean I should eat no more than this amount of calories each day?
 
I'm not 100% sure, but I think if you do that its ok and if your working out then its fine!... i dont count cal. but I eat about 1100-1200 a day give or take a little!

That means that your body doing nothing at all during the day uses 1,563 calories (just for breathing and stuff like that). So that's the base amount of food you should be eating.

And if you want to lose weight, you should subtract calories from that in order to create a deficit, which can also be created through exercise, so you can still eat 1,563 calories a day if you want to and still lose weight. :)

At least, that's how I understand it. Someone more knowledgeable than me correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh well, the start of the new week isn't very good. I planned to go to training today, but when I woke up at the morning I felt that I got cold. So now I have to wait when I'll feel better.
 
I totally feel you. I know lots of people that say you should try to workout through a cold or when you don't feel good, but personally, when I'm sick, all I wanna do is cuddle up under a blanket and watch cartoons or something. :D

I used to train once when I got cold, but after that I felt myself much worse, so now I don't want to risk.

This day I started with a big red apple. So for today I need to have another fruit and some fresh salad.

Also today I bought Muscles & Fitness magazine! How long time has already past when I read it last time!.. Vivid pages, beautiful photos and interesting, useful articles - that's all so inspiring! Such a misfortune that Miss Fitness magazine isn't publishing in our country anymore - I love that magazine very much! :(

I haven't posted here for quite a while.
Previous week I was ill, so there was no training. :( But, I paid much attention to what I was eating. I didn't eat chocolate (at all), ate much less cheese and ate more fresh fruits and vegetables, didn't eat late at night. I can't say my food now is ideal, but I'm quite happy with what it is now. Ofcourse I will improve it more.

Yesterday I went shopping and bought a new sport uniform - new year - new style ;) - all in dark grey color and a stylish black sport bag with light-blue stripes. By the way, my new shoes are from Nike, which slogan is a part of my diary name - Just do it! :cool:

Today I finally went training in the gym. I took a fitness drink with me and made a nice training.

So here I will write down my training routine just for myself checking. Sorry, some words will be in russian, as I don't know them in english. :(

I checked my weight today in the gym, and it was 72.70. So I lost almost 2kg for a week only just finally controlling my food! :hurray:

The next training I plan to make on thursday. Probably it would be just a cardio. I'll look how my muscles will feel themselves after today.
