thanx I know my weekend diet SUCKS I need to get a fruit in Im going to go make a fruit salad. I always lose step on the weekend. always Im trying to break the cycle I really need to. I need to lay out a good plan and know it before the problem arises. thanx I need a kick in the but every now and then. Im going to go shopping I need to eat something else other then soup Im going crazy on soup.:jump:
 
IMHO, you feel like crap because you're not eating enough. Today in particular, but a 3-pound-per-week loss is a *huge* deficit - 1,500 calories a day that your body burns in excess of what you eat. Eat more (some fruits and veggies and lean protein would be one place to start). Revise your expectations to more like 1.5 pounds a week. :)

I've been known to retain up to 3 pounds of water weight in the days surrounding ovulation and the couple days around the start of my period. One day you wake up way heavier, and several (or many) days later, you wake up way lighter. Sucks, but it's just water, and water weight gain doesn't count any more than water weight loss does.
 
There's a thread in nutrition on the benefits of cheat days - sometimes going astray isn't a bad thing -the trick there, is to not beat yourself up about it -just keep going forward :)

Why do you think you're having problems on weekends, many people do, is it too much free time, not enough planning ahead, fun distractions, boredom? Sometimes getting to the root of the problem, is a step in helping solve it :)
 
ooooh this thread has been cold lets get a fire going under this.

Been awhile since I last wrote in my diary though I have been on the forums 2-3 times daily. I have greatly improved my diet and im working out the kinks. I am trying the special K thing Eat two bowls for two meals and a normal healthy dinner. If you can tolerate it. Its been going good. I eat that for breakfast with a banana and for lunch with an apple or some grapes. I miss water mellon.

I did good today I was absolutly craving peanut butter so I put some on my apple.

I had a can of soup for dinner the soup is driving me crazy i need to cook something tomorrow. Chinese chicken sounds amazing right now

I do need to find more ways to work veggies into my diet

I walked around the block once in the afternoon then again after the gym

I accomplished something at the gym I thought I never would an hour at 3mph non stop on the olyptical burned 600 cal. I am BEAT.

good so far today (knocks on wood)

Had the special K for breakfast+Lunch

had a cup of carrots with a little Light ranch dressing when I got home. Im looking for my sugar free butter scotches I cant find them

I want to get out of the house so bad but I cant drive yet (not for another month) and its raining Im losing my mind:jump: I think I'll clean my room or something. put on some music and dance. IDK

Where's your protein gf? You're barely eating enough to sustain a bird - Let alone a ninja turtle. ;)

I have heard mixed stories on eggs, I love scrambles eggs in the morning but some say they are way to high in calorie and chlestoral others say good head eat as many as you want whos right.

Oh phooey - eggs also have other benefits - like Lutein which is good for the eyes.

I think an egg here and there isn't going to kill us. KWIM? I have used the egg beaters when I just want a scrambled egg.

But there's no pleasing some of us is there? LOL

There are other forms of proteins too - cottage cheese, chicken (and other poultry), lean beef, soy products, etc.

There is always a new study out on this or that - then years down the road it will be something different. I guess if you like eggs, go for it - if you have to watch the cholesterol, then just don't have so many!

well had my serving of fruit today

I did have 2 eggs for breakfast but I think I'll stick with my special k for awhile

Had some left over chinease chicken for lunch and a few rice cakes for dinner Im going to have a bowl of special K cause I feel I ate a little much today

2 eggs
chinease chicken
apple w/ little bit of PB
Grapes
a serving of rice cakes

well ok not a ton much but IDK im still finding a healthy balance

Eggs are not bad for you but the key is moderation. I limit myself to two eggs per week the rest is egg beaters if I need more.
Your calories seem a bit low. Are you tracking how many calories you eat?

Congrats on your weight loss on the HC challenge. You surely kicked butt with your 20 lbs loss!!! Awesome going!!

Fruits, vegetables, protein, carbs.. you need to eat all just have to know the amount... LOL

the biggest problem I've always had with egg beaters is the gross film they leave at the bottom of the pan... but if you use the ziplock bag method of cooking them - cleanup is a breeze...

Congrats on making your goal weight for the halloween challenge, Laura, that's a great thing :)
 
thanx to everyone. I can limit myself easy on the eggs I like them and all but im not crazy about them.

I figured my calories are a bit low, im trying to eat more of lower calorie foods. looks of fruits and veggies where I can get them I know I will have to work protien in there somewhere, I just get nervous eating home cooked meals because you really dont know how many calories your eating.

I think I will cook up a little chicken and throw it in a salad tomorrow for dinner. tonight Im having soup though

200cal grilled chicken and pasta. I spoon the fat of the top. That clumpy stuff thats always floating when you open the can I dont want that in my body. Thats the bad stuff right Just inform me on that. As for that im comfortable at the moment with my special K and what not.

Im teaching myself to stop eating out of boredum. Its tough and its really cold here so I dont quite feel like walking. Im going to the gym tonigh for and 1 1/2 hr and then I walk my dogs at night,

I'm not a huge fan of eggs either, but it is easy protein!

Im going to got for a light walk in a liitle bit. I will work on getting more calories in tomorrow I dont like feeling weak. I need more meat I know that for sure. I'll be better tomorrow I promise.
 
Yes Laura, you have to eat more. I have been there myself where I got soo lightheaded in the gym I had to get off the treadmill and sit.. not a good feeling . Of course the gym owner scolded for not eating enough.
Have you tried Fitday.com yet? it can give you a pretty good idea about how many calories you consume and you can make sure you never go under 1200.
Do you like yogurt? Those are good protein sources as well besides other benefits. How about some whole wheat bread? Just find the ones lower in calories, those are not bad for you at all.

That's happened to me a few times. You have to eat well in order to workout.

I do like yogurt I haven't had any form of bread in a long while. I meat I still get grains and fiber else where Im going to have a nice pasta dinner tonight just one of those smartones meals, im looking forward too it. ah thats sad.
