Hello everyone! =)

Hope you're all doing well. So this is the beginning of my weight loss diary! First, I'll answer some questions they suggested...

-How much weight do you want to lose?
I want to lose around 65 pounds.

-What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight?
I want to lose it at a healthy but steady rate. I'm not sure how long exactly it would take though.

-How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)?
I need to first focus on my eating habits. That is my main problem. I am an extremely active person. I just eat way too often and way too much.

-Who or what can support you in reaching your goal?
My mother always supports me. Without her, I don't know where I'd be. She is a continuous supporter of whatever I do, including my weight loss efforts.

-How realistic is your goal?
My goal is very realistic. I feel very comfortable around 160-170 pounds. I wouldn't mind losing a little more to be around 150 but my goal is realistic. I have curves and a booty at that weight! I look amazing now but damn at that weight, I'm on fire =)

-When will you start?
I started an hour ago when I decided NOT to order a calzone but rather I found this site. From this point on, I'm changing.

-What is your current height and weight?
I am 5'10'' and I weigh 235. =\

-If you were at an ideal weight now, what would that weight be?
Around 160

-At what weight would you like to be at four months from now?
I would like to be under 200 pounds.

-Why do you want to lose weight?
Why? Wow. There are so many reasons. I want to be able to shop anywhere! I want to be able to eat without people laughing or making rude comments. I don't want to find companionship in food anymore. I feel like it is ruining my chances for real life companionship. I want to lose weight so I can be healthy and be around to enjoy more years of this amazing life I have!

-Do you want to lose weight for a specific life event such as wedding or reunion? If so, when is that event?
No specific event.

-What obstacles could get between you and your weight loss goals?
campusfood.com & the dining hall. why must they always have deliciously terrible food!?

-Why do you think that you now have a weight problem?
I used food as a substitute for everything I didn't have growing up. I was alone and food was there. Ever since my parents divorced, I have had to look out for myself. When I was bored or lonely, I ate and I ate a lot. It became a habit. It became normal for me. It needs to change.

-What lifestyle changes do you think would help you lose weight?
I need to eat less and cut back on "bad" foods. I need to start going to the gym too in time. I go now, but sporadically. I need to go on a regular basis.

-Have you lost weight in the past? If so, what has worked in the past to help you lose weight?
Yes, I have lost weight in the past (about 50 pounds). Then I quickly gained it all back because of various reasons. I exercised and changed my diet. It worked wonders.

-Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back?
I gained the weight back because I turned again to food. I can always rely on food to be there.

-What, if anything, has not worked for you in the past in helping you to lose weight? Why do you think it did not work?
Uhm. I can't think of anything.

-Would you try writing down all food and drink consumed for a given period of time?
I have. I was on weight watchers.

-Do you cook at home often? If so, what do you cook?
When I am home I cook very healthy foods...but I eat WAY too much of it and then I eat again like an hour after that. However, when I am at college, I cannot cook in the dorm so I eat in the dining halls.

-How often do you go out to eat? Where do you go?
I eat out often. I order out food a great deal, about 2-3 times per week.

-What are your three favorite foods?
Spinach pie, Nut Burger from this little restaurant in Rhode Island, cream of spinach soup

-What are your three favorite restaurants?
taco bell! haha Olive Garden, Crazy Burger

-What are three things you can do differently when it comes to food?
Eat less, cut out foods like fries and onion rings, don't eat when I am bored!

-If you woke up tomorrow and your body was exactly the way you want it, what would be different?
wow. I would be one happy camper let me tell you! My arms and legs would be nice and tone. I'd have a cute little tummy but still have my curves.

-Do you eat when you are not hungry?
story of my life. I do all the time.

-Do you binge eat (large amounts at a time)?
Yes, then feel guilty afterwards.

-Do you hide your food or eat in secret?
yes.

-Do you eat when you are sad, nervous, or depressed?
yes

-Do you eat as a reward?
yup

-Do you eat while watching TV or using the computer?
yes

-What do you normally eat for a meal?
salad, then I try to get protein and carbs in...then while at school I usually get a sweet desert too

-What type of snacks do you eat?
chips, candy..that sort of thing

-In terms of exercise, what, if anything, are you currently doing?
I do a lot of walking to and from classes. I walk for a good 2 hours out of my day just going to and from class. I go to the gym sometimes too.

-Where do you go for exercise? A local public gym? School/work gym?
School gym..sometimes to the local track to run with a friend of mine who is 1/4 of my size and can run like crazy..but she helps me out.

-What, if anything, are your three favorite types of exercise?
elliptical, hiking, putting the fork to my mouth? haha I think not.

-What is your daily/weekly/monthly/yearly motivation to move towards your goals?
By my 20th birthday, which is in January 2009, I want to be happy with the way I look. I want to feel sexy again. I want to feel young.

-Do you have rewards for certain goals?
I'm gonna travel somewhere. I think I may backpack through Europe.

=) end of questions. Well I guess I'll end this entry here!

Good luck to everyone! Muah! <3:party:

Just thought I'd start keeping track of what I eat. I just had lunch at the dining hall and I had-->

1. Spinach (seasoned with garlic and lemon) & I put hot sauce on it.
2. And I made myself a sandwich at the deli area. I used whole grain bread, mustard, a few slices of roast beef for some protein, and 1 slice of provolone cheese. Then toasted it on our panini grill..actually it was quite a delicious sandwich.
3. I had 2 glasses of water (cuz I really need to cut out all the energy drinks and soda).
4. Then I treated myself to a coffee. 3 equals with skim milk.

I think I did pretty well for my lunch and I'm full from it. The good thing about Thursdays is that I volunteer from 3-5 at Big Brothers, Big Sisters so less time to think about eating! And my little sister keeps me running around so I get exercise!

Well I suppose that's all for now...I'll probably be writing later on tonight some time when I am procrastinating studying for my midterm! :auto:

Big Sisters is a great organization to volunteer for - that's awesome that you're doing that - and your little will learn all sorts of good healthy habits from you too i'm sure :)

Are you keeping track of caloriesin any program - like or one of the 100s of ther free sites on the web? sometimes it's good to know where your calories are going...

welcome to your diary and the site -have fun while you're here :D

Thanks!

Thanks for the website suggestion! I've never heard of it before. I'll have to give it a try.

there's tons out there that are similar - just google food diary or food journal -they all access the same database for the most part -it'sjust whatever front end that you prefer.. it's a way of keeping track of your calories and other nutrients and gives you good historical info..

Hello again! Well, I just got done having dinner. I did splurge a bit but overall I didn't do so badly.

1. Burrito from the Student Union. It was shredded beef with cheese, beans, peppers, onions, lettuce, pico de gallo, and guacamole on a flour tortilla.
2. Macaroni and Cheese (small-ish size)
3. A vault energy drink

I'm gonna be up studying until late late so I needed the caffeine! And my little sister and I played outside today and she had me running around like crazy! So I don't feel all that horrible about what I ate. It's all I'll be having for the rest of the day anyway (hopefully lol).

=(

Well I'm up at the University of Rhode Island visiting my friend and I am not doing well with my diet.

Last night I had 4 reeses...and a yogurt thing..2 burritos from taco bell..some chips..and an iced tea...drunken eating is not good for me

=( not good. this morning, I had a bowl of cereal, 2 french toast sticks, a little bit of scrambled eggs too. iced tea & water

I eat a lot when I drink too. I'm holding back on the drinking for the next 2 weeks to getmy metabolism back on track!

Welcome to the WLF!

Thanks lanadefemme!

Back to CT after my deliciously sinful weekend of way too many calories...but back on track now!

On the drive home I did quickly stop at Dunkin Donuts I did have the following-
1. Medium Coffee-regular
2. Egg and Cheese on a croissant
3. Bigggg bottle of water

I plan on taking a long walk with my dog later to work off some of those calories from breakfast.

So I've been on track the past couple of days. I weighed myself today and I weigh 228 now! I've lost 7 lbs! =)

hopefully I can keep it up!

Lunch-Smart Ones frozen pasta thing

Dinner-I made this awesome concoction! I stir fried peppers, garlic, onions, and tomatoes in a little olive oil and mixed in white rice (I usually use brown but I didn't have anymore). I put some feta cheese on top and it was delicious! I had on the side some baked beans too. It was a good combo.

So I haven't been able to post in a while but I'm doing pretty well. I haven't lost or gained any weight since last post. I am starting a gym regimen tonight...we'll see how this goes!
