Hi everyone,
For those that didn't read my introduction I will start again. I am 27 years old and I am overweight. Through high school I was always on the heavier side but I wasn't what you would call obese. My weight started to pile on when I was at university and had the freedom of eating whatever I wanted whenever I wanted (pizza for morning tea, chinese for lunch and a couple of bottles of coke to keep me awake!)
Around July last year (2005) I weighed my heaviest 104.7kg and I knew I had to do something about it, so I got my big butt into gear and lost about 15kg. However I then remembered how nice junk food tastes and I fell of the wagon and gained about 6kg back. I have decided that it is time to do something about it before I get totally out of control.
I also have a good motivating factor that my boyfriend proposed to me a few weeks ago. Just thinking about all those eyes on me on my wedding day is enough to make me head for the gym!!
I also have PCOS. The best way to keep my symptoms under control and to live a long and healthy life is to loose weight which is exactly what I am trying to do!
Anyway here are the dreaded questions....
How much weight do you want to lose?
Last week when I weighed myself I was 96.0kg. In the last week I have lost 1.7kg, my ideal weight is 65 kg so that means I want to loose 31kg's.
What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight? I don't have a specific time frame... We haven't set a date for the wedding but I imagine it will be late 2007 or early 2008. However I have timeframes for other little goals. The first one is my parents are currently away and I would like to weigh 90kg when they get back (on 20/8/2006) and the next one is to be 85kg for our engagement party (no date set yet!)
How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)? My plan at this point is to count calories and to go to the gym at least 5 times a week. I am also currently seeing a personal trainer once a week and a dietician (every 3rd week) to help keep me on track
Who or what can support you in reaching your goal? My family is great especially my sister who is a fitness freak and is always encouraging me to go to the gym with her. My fiance is supportive with my plans however he still eats junk food in front of me! (I just keep telling myself it will make me a stronger person!)
How realistic is your goal? I think it is fairly realistic, once I get the initial 11 kg's off then I am hoping for about a 0.5kg a week weight loss which I think is definately doable (is that a word????)
When will you start? I started last week. I lost 1.7kg in my first week, which was higher than the 1.5 I was aiming for!!!
Anyway if I have left anything out of this novel then please feel free to ask!
Take Care
