day 5 successfully done.. decided to take the weekly treat

the day started off well.. woke up.. worked out.. had my usuals of veggie soup and boiled egg .. followed by steamed rice and chicken in the afternoon.. i snacked with an apple in between.. :)

i am supposed to take a 'treat' meal only once a week, where i get to have something i've been craving for thru out the week (only in small proportion)..
this helps to stop the cravings (and from binging) and helps me to keep a healthy diet thru out the week..and since its just one meal in the entire week, and dat too in small amount it dsnt hurt..

initially i planned to take the meal on Saturday (7th day of the routine).. but today was my younger sister's 13th birthday, and she really requested me to have dinner together with the family.. i said no but then felt really guilty.. so in the evening i bought her a birthday cake and decided to drop home and give her a surprise..

so i had dinner with the family.. i realized with a tinge of satisfaction that although it was supposed to be the 'treat' i dint feel like binging..i only had a small amount of the cake followed by a dinner cooked at home...

so i am pretty satisfied with day 5.. tmrw i continue with my soup, fruits veggie and chicken..and ofcourse my work-outs..i wud be a little careful though tmrw.. to make sure dat i dnt feel tempted to treat myself any further.. only once a week is the rule :) :D

then on monday or tuesday, i finally measure my weight for the frst time after starting the routine.. wish me luck :hurray: :hurray:

Good Luck!! :biggrinjester:

Its good you are allowing yourself a treat once a week, and you are being reasonable about how much of it you eat. Very good so you don't feel 'deprived'.

Big change in your writing even between day 1 and day 5. It will be interesting to see how it is in a couple months. :hurray:

late night/early morning rambles

woo hoo.. its two in the morning here, and i just finished a one hour moderate intensity cardio session (static bike)..:hurray:

i haven't been his enthusiastic about working out for years.. it feels good:D :D

since it was a holiday and i wasn't going any where i thought i shud walk for an hour in the evening to somewhat make up for the activity level (i normally walk for half an hour).. the rest of the day went as usual.. tae bo in the morning..fruits, vegetables, steamed rice, and lentils for five meals spread thru out the day (oh, and a few biscuits).. but when the evening came i got all sluggish..instead of walking, i logged into facebook and played poker.. finally it was twelve in the night, and i thut heck there's no time to walk now... :svengo:

but i dint feel like writing "i was too lazy to walk" in the forum, so i pushed myself, stepped on the cycle and gave it one hour at an (above) moderate intensity..and boy it feels good...

u guys inspire me :).. if it wasnt for wlf i prolly wud have given up and gone to sleep...

:hurray: :hurray:

day eight completed :0.. it was a hard one, friends once again made fun of my weight.. and later we had to work for our research paper for the rest of the day.. and every one ate out and stuff.. so it was really difficult..but i managed to hold on :)

i am about to start my own weight loss journal.. :hurray::hurray:

ninth day completed.. :) :)

ate well.. worked out.. came home late so had to do the evening session in the middle of the night.. really scared to take my weight though.. i haven't checked my weight ever since joining wlf.. so really looking forward to it in a way.. :)
but may be i'll give it a couple of more days before weigh in :)

thankfully coupla ppl have been telling me that i prolly have lost a little.. so that's always inspiring..its just that i'm always scared that i'll end up losing motivation like so many other times

anywhoo..howz ur weight loss coming along? :):)

That fear will always be there. But let me tell you when you see results it makes you want to see more.

I sometimes would wait a couple of weeks before weighings. You will one day say I feel a change and when you weigh yourself you may have lost 5lbs. I never really looked at the scale as my reward. I looked at how my clothes have changed. You may be building muscle and the will weigh more than fat. So do be discouraged. Good Luck Tina:waving:

Your friends aren't very nice. I know guys will be guys and bash on each other, but sheesh! Catch 22 there is you can't really say anything because then they'll ridicule you because your feelings got hurt.

Glad to see you're sticking with it! Don't let the bastards get you down! :smash:

:D :D the last bit brought the biggest grin on my face in quite a while.. thank u:)

Heyyyyyyyy THERE!!! Way to go....i like that "BASTARD" comment too!!!

You are doing an AMAZING JOB!!!!!

:D :D the last bit brought the biggest grin on my face in quite a while.. thank u:)

Glad it could bring a smile to your face. The jacked up Americanized Latin version of this phrase is "Illegitimus Non Carborundum!" which supposedly means "don't let the bastards grind you down!" I have also heard that it is a bad and grammatically incorrect latin translation... but the sentiment is still the same.

I can't help it, but it REALLY pisses me off on your behalf that your friends subject you to ridicule like that. Makes me want to kick 'em all in the head. While wearing my steel toe boots. :boxing::flame::reddevil:

So if it helps, next time they ridicule you for your weight, picture them getting kicked in the head by an ornery redhead in steel toe boots. I just can't wait until you trim down and get the last laugh on them all.

weigh in results

i felt a little sluggish when i woke up this morning.. then i imagined my 'friends' being whacked on the head with a boot (with still toe) and a fit me laughing in the back ground :hurray: :hurray: .. it got me right back to my feet and working out with all my heart, in no time.. so once again, thank u guys :)

i measured my weight...

i was kinda scared abt the measurement.. in fact i thut may be i shud tek the weight next week and before that cut my hair, shave by beard off and may be donate a coupla bags at the blood bank :)

then i finally got the guts and took the weight.. and guess what I LOST 2.5kgs.. :hurray::hurray:

i mean i know since its the beginning weight-loss most of it is the water weight.. but it still feels great :hurray:

u guys are the best :hurray:

p.s. day 11 went fine :)

 YAY!!!

See, off to a good start on the weight loss. I had to translate that to lbs (because we still use antiquated measurements here in the U.S.)... 5.5 pounds!!! That's awesome.

A healthy amount to lose per week is generally .9 kg, or 2 lbs. Sometimes it will be more, others it will be less. But hey as long as the scale continues to go down... its all good, right?

Keep at it!!! You're doing great!
