I joined this site about a week ago, and started working out about a week and a half or sometime around there. I weigh 225-230 lbs (last time I checked was about 2 days ago) and have been going to the gym almost everyday. My goal is to lose at least 75 lbs by the time the next school year starts. I'm pretty determined to lose all this weight because, to be quite frank, I'm a fat slob and I'm pretty lazy. You could say I had one of those "moments" where I started thinking deep and hard about my life, and decided I don't want to grow up to be some overweight fat guy who just watches sports and drinks beers all day, but instead become the guy that loves to play sports and will go out to get a beer instead of just sit in.

One of the reasons I don't really go out a lot is because of my weight. I have some really bad self-esteem issues and am not really confident in myself because I tend to think when people see me, the first thing they notice is how fat I am. Well, I'm going to lose this weight and possibly take boxing lessons at my gym, so not only will I look good, but people will think twice before they blurt out some bullshit (unless they want a quick one, two that is).

So anyway, to start this diary off:

I went to the gym today for about an hour. I did some cardio on the bike for about 20 minutes (I still get winded really easily), and lifted weights for another 20 minutes, and hopped back on the bike to call it a day. I feel like 1 hour isn't doing anything for me, so I'm going to start going for 2 hours, and gradually going different times of the day when I have down-time and nothing else to do. Good news is my arms, back, and chest don't hurt like a rhino is sitting on my body after lifting weights, and my mom tells me that it looks like I'm getting thinner (huge + in getting me more motivated). I guess that's pretty much for today. Hopefully I have time to go to the gym tomorrow (Tuesdays and Thursdays are hectic school days, but I'm sure I can get an hour in in the morning).

Hey, just keep doing what you're doing. I know you will go far. I had self-esteem issues too.. I started at 205 pounds and I did almost exactly what you're doing, and I lost a lot of pounds.
Congrats on being motivated.

I didn't get a chance to update this thread yesterday (was really busy). Anyway, here we go.

Went to the gym around 10:00 this morning and did about 20 minutes cardio and 10-15 minutes lifting. I didn't get much in the gym at all due to having classes all day long, so a squeezed in about 25-40 minutes altogether. I worked out my arms mostly again (I need to figure out what machines are for what part of your body so I can start doing my legs, back, and chest soon).

Went to the gym around 10 again today, did about 20 minutes on the bike, and about 20-25 working on my arms again. I really need to stay longer...
