Knuckle push ups

Is there any benifit to knuckle push ups?
I can do a fair few but find them much more of a challenge than regular push ups.
Not due to my arms or chest but a lot more pressure is put on my fists.

Thanks
Cian

Man, knuckle pushups are mainly for bone strengthening. It's a martial arts thing, and it also takes pressure off of the wrists. There's no extra benefit for the muscles as far as I can tell though.

They strengthen the wrists and hands, toughen the skin over the knuckles and teach you to tense your wrists and hands properly to absorb the impact of a punch. They would definately be a good thing for a boxer.

when I did Kempo Karate, they'd make us do fingertip push-ups sometimes. VERY hard...but you look like a badass when you can pull it off, and of course you develop gnarly finger strength, which was needed for hand-techniques.
