Kila's Diary

This is my first post and I must say I'm a little reserved. I've gotten so excited and "gung ho" about losing this weight before only to let myself down. I'm trying to focus on the positive and block out the negative thoughts I end up telling myself. (this is hopeless, I'll never lose the weight, its just not fair etc). I'm hoping by writing those down I can look at this first entry and remind myself this isn't hopeless, I can lose this weight and it's not fair to me or my daughter if I don't! I am almost 34 years old and have been divorced for 10 years. I have a daughter who will turn 16 this June!! My current weight is 209 (the heaviest I've ever been) and I'm 5'6. I have cut out all soda and began drinking water and decaf tea. I am walking 10-30mins everyday on my treadmill not missing a day. (trying to form a habit) I'm most leary of my eating habits. I can't stand most veggies so I'm having to learn inventive ways to prepare them. Well tomorrow's a new day and I can't wait to see what God has in store for me then!!

HI Kila!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good job on starting the weight loss!!!!:iagree:

I'm sure everyone has almost the same story about battling weight loss and going through ups and downs. This is probably the best place to be and really get motivated to lose weight... You can do this there is no doubt in my mind. :biggrinjester:

It's a challenge but you know 1 pound at a time. I know you can do this and 209 is not that bad. It's 2009 and you will and can do this... Wooooooooohlooooooooooooo for jumping on the weightloss bandwagon. :grouphug:

Hey Kila! Like Ivette said, I'm sure all of us have experienced the same ups and downs of weight loss. What matters now is that you're willing to take charge and change your habits! :) I think you're off to such a great start by taking in more water and lightly working out. ;] Soon you'll be running MARATHONS! WOOO!!! :D

I didn't like veggies too much either but now I love them! Have you tried eating broccoli as a side? Like, I'll have a piece of fish or chicken and instead of eating it with potatoes or rice, I'll boil some broccoli adn then spray some I CANT BELIEVE ITS NOT BUTTER (o calories) on it. it's soo good!

Anyways, good luck with everything! :waving:

Thanks so much!! I appreciate the encouragement and ideas! We've been iced in for 3 days now but i've been able to keep from munching and in stead tried to stay busy so I wouldn't sit and eat everything in the house! Thank goodness the ice is melting and I can get out 2moro!! woo hoo!!:banghead:

Hi :) hey we almost have the same weight :) I'm 210 :p , but that's it!! no more! Hope I can see you around and get that scale dominated 4 good!! best of luck on your way to a better life.

Sounds a bit crazy but sometimes I think we set ourselves up for failure when we make like 20 life changes at once you know, instead of just starting out with three things a week, like this week I am going to swap soda for herbal tea, try and walk half an hour 4 times a week and eat 2 pieces of fruit a day (couldn't think of any really good examples hehe) and then when you have met those challenges you can implement some more and because you are making them easy to meet your changes are gradual.

I am trying that anyway, because everytime I wake up and try and do everything at once I get overwhelmed after a week or two and give up!

Good luck, anyway, least you are staying strong when snowed in. :hurray:

Your so right Kila!!! this is a life time thing so making your changes gradually will probably be the best thing to do.. When you go for your walks try walking for 5 minutes and then running or jogging as much as you can then walking then jogging all in intervals in those same 30 mins... It works better for your weightloss... well good luck on this new llifestyle.. You can do it.. And if you ever feel unmotivated come on here because someone will motivate you.. YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!wooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!
