so here i go..
My weight loss resolution:

2. No fried or baked stuff except on the 2 cheat days in one month
3. sugarless tea/coffee for 4 months
4. sugarless herbal green tea everyday
5. whole grain cereal or boiled egg in breakfast
6. grilled/poached/steamed/boiled food everyday
7. at least 50% veges and fruits in everyday diet
8. 1 hour aerobics/run at least 3 times a week
9. 1 hour swimming at least once a week

11. if invited on dinner/party, breaking any of the above mentioned rules will make it a cheat day
12. will limit the calories intake to 1800 per day max.

looking forward to receiving support from the nice people on this forum :)

Khan

Hi Khan and welcome to the forum! Having a gymrat-hubby may be a bit intimidating at times but it´s sure great to have someone by your side who values healthy living when you´re trying to lose weight. How old are your little ones? Seems like you have an ambitious, but solid plan in plan in place so I´m sure you´ll do great.

All the best, LaMa

Welcome Khan,

I love your attitude and approach...healthy and committed choices. This forum is a great source of support...social events can be very hard for someone who is on a weight-loss plan, but I feel that as long as you limit your outings (I personally do a couple of times a week), and keep the healthy commitments during the rest of the week, your goals will be reached.

Good luck and we are happy to have you here. ;-)

Thank you for the nice comments :) my elder is 3 and a half years old and the younger just turned 2. back to back pregnancies and then taking care of 2 kids left me little time for myself. but now my daughter goes to school and I find my mornings less occupied so I get time to take some exercise. You are right. My husband really values healthy living. He loves healthy food, its usually me who spoils us with heavy and delicious meals :p I guess quitting my job for the kids and staying at home made me depressed or something. I enjoy cooking and eating so much. I also love dining out. Hubby prefers homemade food. but we dine out very frequently. Lets see how I am gonna control these urges to cook and eat yummy food. Doing good so far but its just my second day :p

If you have the time and you love cooking I´m sure you´re going to find light and delicious meals instead of the heavy and delicioud ones. People may think they need fat and sugar to "spoil" themselves but that´s just a matter of habit. You can do this girl - and without suffering. Challenge your cooking skills and your brain, the internet is full of wonderful healthy recipes!

Hi its been a weak and I have lost 2 pound only.. It wasnt a good week as in I couldnt take any exercise..No swimming either.. 2 big family gatherings and cooked so much non healthy heavyyy food on sunday and yesterday,,lol...but i did good the rest of the week..also got Jillian Michaels 60 days bodyshred dvds..but the meal plan that comes with bodyshred is missing. I wonder if its allowed to post about it on this forum or ask anyone to share the meal plan with me..what do you say?

Not sure about that, it may be considered hidden spam but I really don´t know. Congratulations on losing two pounds in a week despite having TWO family gatherings! That´s a great score, keep up the good work :)

yes and i even tried kfc chicken recipe for the first time and ahhh it turned out so good.. had a small leg piece..still it felt like i committed a big sin..and also when i ate the dessert,,aahh..seems like i have already exhausted my cheat days this month :( today i have no eggs at home..forgot 2 buy .. now im thinking can i break my rule and have peanut butter on brown bread toast instead? a bit tired of my sugarless swiss muesli now :(
p.s. the scale even showed my weight to be 185lbs 3 days ago, but it was due to less than normal hydration that day so i didnt take that into account

cant wait to start Jillian Michael's 60 days bodyshred tomorrow :D just need to find the bodyshred meal plan booklet which is missing. also need to buy new dumbbells to be used in the 30min workout everyday..
wish me luck :D
p.s. still trying to find a partner in this weight-loss mission :p hubby may agree..lets see :p

That 60-day bodyshred sounds like a killer! Kudos to you for even starting it and good luck with the completion :) Looking forward to your updates!

haha yeah..actually I lost almost 8 lbs taking Jillian Michael's cardioblast exercises a few months ago..thats why i think i may be able 2 do these tough ones..i used to hit the gym and aerobics/yoga classes on regular basis before the kids..tough workout is never a problem for me, even when i was pregnant i was quite tough and would even go hiking and for a forest walk. the love of fooddd has always been my enemy..lol.just cant resist food..especially now that i feed 2 toddlers, i tend to eat everything they leave :( i skip my meals altogether but still my lifestyle has completely changed after the kids..i count calories, they are so little still, i dont lose weight as much as i should..because of a lazy lifestyle..joined the gym for 1 month but then couldnt arrange a babysitter for my son so had 2 quit..hubby is willing to babysit after his office and gym..but this is a third world country. there are power supply issues and many machines cant be operated at my gym during that specific hour when i can make it to the gym..lol..irony..lets hope the officials change the electricity loadshedding time so that i hit the gym again.
right now i need to focus on my eating problems. i like both healthy and non healthy stuff..im just the opposite of abstemious. just need 2 reduce the unhealthy food intake..which is a biggg challenge..i havent been following my 12 rules properly the past 10 days :( one day i can resist the cravings and the other day i cant :( i just took a few bites off the zinger burger which my kids wr eating,lol..and cleaned their breakfast plates by eating the leftover boiled egg :(

Not having electricity at all times must present a whole new set of challenges! May I ask where you live? I would personally recommend not skipping meals if you have kids (you know, modelling healthy eating for them and such) but I don´t have children myself so it´s easy for me to talk :)

haha..so nice of u to admit that "easier said than done" thing. My kids are strange..today i was in a hurry ..we had an appointment with property dealer so i just fried the nuggets and stir-fried broccoli, spinach and mushrooms for them..and they ate all the vegges and left the nugget,lol..when i asked them to finish the food, they started crying and whining ..haha..so im lucky that my kids loveee fruits and veges..as well as all kinds of meat.
i live in Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan. hubby got transferred to Malaysia so we moved there for a few years but now back in pak.. those who can afford have electricity generators and other power backup systems installed at homes. Malls and offices etc as well..so here we dont get affected by the power cuts (people here call it electricity loadshedding) but again, not everyone can afford big generators.. they ask us to turn off the treadmills when the electricity is out.

i just remembered this is also an electricity load-shedding hour in our sector,lol..the govt is useless..things were much better when we were kids

Hi nskhan, I was away 2 weeks & seem to have missed your diary I'm sorry. It's great that your littlies are such good eaters, but that must be your influence, so well done! When you prepare their meals, why not also sit with them & have a similar meal, but perhaps with out the chicken nugget. My grand-kids love to sit down to a meal of raw vegetable, cheese & fruit & so do I. I think most mothers think of their children first & are inclined to put themselves last. You will be the best mother if you also look after yourself. Experimenting with healthy recipes can be fun. I remember the feeling when I gave up work & was home full-time with my 2 sons. I had this feeling of "so is this my life now?" & was bored witless for a while, until I organised a "play group" in the neighbourhood. My poor husband sometimes came home to a house full of children & mothers, but "happy wife, happy life" hey? It helped me get by.
All the best nskhan in this journey & a very belated welcome to the forum. Cheers, Cate.

I second what Cate said (I nearly always do :) ) : you must be doing something very right if your kids prefer veggies to chicken nuggets!

thank u cate :) and Maria :) and yes thats what i meant by skipping my own meals..i just eat with my kids..whatever they eat..they love all kind of soups..and veges..and seafood..but i usually make them a bit calorie rich food..like white sauce cheesy pasta or indo-pak style meat and vege curries with chapati..and rice..so the problem is, when i eat with them, i dont lose weight at all..altho i eat very small portions or just their leftovers..but still my metabolism is slow or something,i put on weight so fast..thats y i skip my own meal..i have even stopped eating dinner with my husband every night..lol..we dined out on the weekend and i didnt even order food for myself :p..just took a little bit from everyone's plate :p hoping this strategy will pay off in the long run.

I´m sure you will do just fine! Getting started is hard sometimes, but the fact that you cook - and like cooking - makes all the diference.

husband has agreed to join me for the 30 min workout :D but he will join today and we will even workout on the weekend..monday will be the rest day..im v.happy coz hes very regular ..and wont let me miss the workout :p

WELCOME and you have kick-started off very nicely! :hurray:

*WooHoo for you & hubby!!* :)

How I wish hubby and our son (21) would join me!!

Have A Goal Reachin' Tuesday! :seeya:
