Kez tries again!!!

Apparently it's worse for people who have sensitive skin, which I do. So I've heard that you should wash and moisturize your face with sensitive skin products as soon as you're done working out, before the sweat gets a chance to dry in.
i can confirm it is worse for sensitive skin, however now at least my skin seems to be used to the sweat - when i first started i would rash for days at a time after exercise (didnt stop me).

Now i can sweat and not wash till later in the day and i have no rash.

Yeah, I'm pretty much like that now too. I don't get nearly as red as I used to, thank the Lord. But I still make sure to wash my face right after, just in case.

How's it going, Kez? Hope you're having a fantastic day!

Hey all!

I have had a very busy (and not very healthy :( ) few days, but although the busyness is not gonna let up any time soon I'm gonna keep trying harder!! Will try to post properly later.

Hello

Hi Kez, haven't seen you on here for a bit. Hope you are doing okay and aren't working too hard! Rachie :D

Hi everyone

This is so hard, I don't think I can do it!!!! The first time I joined this forum, it was so great and I did so well, better than I ever have before in my life, I lost about 20lbs!

But I f***ed up and christmas, came back for only about a week, and have f***ed up again. What's the point? I must have put on so much, I'm way to scared to weigh. I just get bored with the whole thing and depressed and I am not happy with the way I look but sometimes I think I don't care enough to try and change it. Coz it is SOOOOO much effort, for so little! Even when I lose weight, I can't see the difference.

I know what I SHOULD do, just jump back on the wagon, keep plugging away, it will be worth it, think of my health etc etc. But even when I do amazingly well, I always f*** up sooner or later, so what's the point in making the effort? :(

I'm sorry for the miserable post. I hope you guys are all doing really well, I'm sure you are, you are all so much stronger than me! Even as I write this I am wondering why.

K

Oh kezzy I have been where you are now so many, many times. Eating in a healthy way and getting enough exercise to care for yourself need to be an ongoing thing. I sure hope you are going to keep plugging away, now. The yo-yo thing leads to an increasingly fatter person for many, and there are so many health issues it has caused me to have deal with, that I do not wish for you. I totally relate to the feeling of not wanting to be bothered any more - it's just that if you put this off now - it will not go away. Maybe there are aspects of what you have tried to do that need modifying to make them more sustainable, but keep going, waiting will just add to your issues.

Yes - you know you need to hop back on. That is actually part of the whole thing. To be a healthy weight some of us need to control what we eat, add exercise, learn what foods to have, how to deal with our emotional issues in non-food ways and... importantly... part of the whole thing is we all have to learn how to get going again after we mess up. That's just part of the whole thing. It's not a reason to give up, it's just another skill to add to the others you already have. You came and posted back here - that's one first good step! :)

You really did lose heaps!! You can't have completely undone what you achieved. Look at it as a slow down and just have a think about how you might eat better at your next meal, and maybe tomorrow. Good luck! :)

Hi Kez, just keep trying! It is hard to stay consistent but just think about going to your university ball dolled up in the dress of your dreams! I think felici has some great points. There's no way you have gained back all the weight just in the last few weeks. If you keep trying, you'll continue to get closer and closer to your goal. If you start again today there's still plenty of time and if you keep working hard, those times when you mess up WILL become fewer and overall your hard work will mean they don't matter as much. We all mess up and understand what you are going through, just don't give up on what you have already achieved.

Hi Kezzy,

You're right - you f*cked up.
Big Deal.

Guess what - we ALL do from time to time!
Life gets in the way - different days present different opportunities.

The point is to do the best you can over the average of days and you will see progress.

Have you taken your meal & exercise plan over to the Harsh Truth Section? What you're going through is a scenario that Leigh, one of the trainers just talked about - and the burn out comes from having trained/exercised/dieted really hard, but not necessarily really smart.

Are your calories too low? Are there too many restrictions on what you "can" eat? Is your diet realistic?

If it isn't, it's bound to fail - NOT YOU - the food plan.

You CAN do this Kezzy
Giving up means you never will

Getting good info means you will not have to work AS hard to get the results you're looking for AND it would be a system you can live with forever.

Thank you everyone.

Tomorrow, I am not going to eat more than 1600 calories. One small, easily achievable, very short term goal.

I'll post again tomorrow :)
