I'm no stranger to this forum. I've struggled with my weight for a very long time and have tried so many times to get it under control. I joined the forum as rivardk last summer. I started out strong and eventually it all came to a screeching halt when I returned to University. In October, I dropped out and moved back home with my mom. My life changed drastically and I got married in Kentucky on February 27th, 2009. I was happier than I have ever been. Then I came back to Canada to get my visa and finally had the wedding pictures developed. I was heartbroken. It was then that I decided that this time I'm going to do it! I'm going to lose the weight and I'm going to keep it off. I want to be happy, healthy and beautiful and I want my husband to be shocked when I get back to Kentucky! The old me, and the old rivardk account, reminded me only of how I had failed, so I created a new account as a step to becoming the new, fabulous me! So in honour of that, here are my befores at 244.5lbs, heavier than I have ever been and the heaviest I will ever be.

You are a very beautiful woman, and I'm sure you will do it. Welcome to the forum and use it... it really helps keep me motivated. Way to go on changing your life, I can't wait to see the after pics, you will be amazing I'M SURE!

I remember you! Welcome back and jump back in with both feet! I'm looking forward to seeing you around here again.

With that Cheeky smile and twinkle in your eye you are gorgeous now.. but wow you are going to be a knock out when you are at your ideal weight :D

Congrats on the marriage!!! It must be tough being away from your new hubby, but it's good you are using the time to improve your health and well being :)

Whatever you do, remember why you are doing this and keep yourself motivated. This site has done wonders for my own personal motivation and helped me lose over 45lbs.

Sounds like you're on the right road:auto:

When I look back at my wedding pictures it reminds me of what I'd done before and I'm wanting to get back to that place. In some ways, I think it's more frustrating, having lost a lot of weight and then gaining it back, but I'm using that as a building block...I've done it before, I can do it again and I know I can be the guy I see in my old pictures (well, the hair is a little more gray:nopity:). Keep it up...you'll make it!

Thanks for all the encouragement!
Just a little update, I lost 7.5 lbs in the first week just counting calories and working out! I'm incredibly happy!
