Katie, in transition

today has been a baaad say. i think i've eaten about 2500 calores, with ice cream, cake, and pasta all being consumed today. i was supposed to do yoga, but i am going to do the CardioX video today, because it is shorter and will burn the calories better i think.

i just feel like crap right now too. i'll do my best not to vent or whatever, and i dunno if it is related to the poor eating, but i just feel so down right now. like i do NOT want to exercise, and could just sit and cry... lol weird......

anyways. enough of a rant/vent. off to do my cardio. lata..

yeah, started to do cardio, cant get into it. forget it. i just feel like i have this frustration/anger right now. not really sure why, think its related to my boyfriend. the fact that he is super busy in school and that we are long-distance makes it ridiculously hard to see each other lately. its only about a 1 hour drive, but it is enough to make it so i see him only 1 NIGHT a week (like come over after dinner, leave the next morning). its just getting to me i think, and i guess today its messign with my exercising. tomorrow will be better. tomorrow will be better...

sorry for my rant yesterday. i was in a bad mood. lol

today has been better so far. i have, so far, eaten about 800 calories, which is pretty good for the day. :) i did my Legs and Back routine today, and i got a serious sweat on. i like that one because i feel like it works my cardio a bit too, with all of the lunges, pull-ups, and up-and-down movement :)

nothing big coming up. will need to buy new jeans soon, so i am excited to see what size i am going to be :) i am thinking i may wait a bit longer, till i am a bit skinnier. lol

not much else to discuss today. see y'all later. <3

Sorry to hear you were in a bad mood yesterday, I was also in the worst of moods yesterday--the solar X-rays are active so I guess we can blame it on that :p Glad to hear that you are feeling better today and are back to your routine! Congrats on getting your strength training in!! :hurray:

umm. so the weekend came and went. yesterday, i didn't eat great, with a piece of cake and two handfuls of popcorn for lunch, and all-you-can-eat sushi for dinner (and my boyfriend over-ordered, so we have to STUFF ourselves to keep from having to pay extra). thought i was gonna barf, i was soooo full. lol and i didn't work out yesterday because i decided i would try to knit a mitten. lol which i finished today. :) did my kenpo today. that video fliiies by, and its fun to throw punches sometimes. lol i am really not an aggressive person, so its different for me.

side note: watched the grammy's. anyone else? c.lo green's bird suit? hahaha and who the heck won best new artist? all the other nominees were equally good in my books, and the unknown gets chosen... hmmm.

week 6 starts tomorrow. almost half-wayyyy :) and the weather is getting nicer out (3 degrees celcius today!!). i cannot WAIT for summer, and outdoor running. my boyfriend and i decided we are going to do a 10K in the spring (my first ever)... want to get to training. lol

It's great that you're liking the p90x! I've done the pylo CD once- and it was a lot of fun! :)

I think your goal to lose 8lbs for your birthday is very realistic! But like others have said, you'll probably also gain muscle weight- which is good! Especially doing the p90x! Are you doing the lean program?

It's awesome you took your measurements- you'll probably notice a change there first!!!

haha i dunno!! i haven't put toooo much thought into it. it will be my first organized, group run. i'm kinda nervous. Before i started this program, i could run about 30 minutes, like 3.5 miles. i have run 4 before, and i think i could get back up to it. i guess i'm just planning on running more when this is done next month, and gradually increasing my time. even if i have to walk, right :) haha

5K is awesome! how are you training?? when is this? you are in canada, correct?

thanks for the kind words for the goal. i'm trying to get my eating in shape. its tough. and i;m just doing the classic version of the program. isn't plyo fun??? i just finished it, and i feel awesome. :D

hahaha looked hilarious, right? lol thanks for the support. i'm hoping i can make it. going to start jogging otuside once it gets warmer. my threshold is +6 celcius... won't run if its ANY colder. haha




so, i just finished plyo again. feeling awesome. i am thinking of investing in a heart rate monitor once i can find a steady income. i want to know how many calores i am burning, and rates that i am finding that other people are buring vary a lot (like between 300 and 1000). so i guess it really depends on the person and what you put into it, which makes sense. i'm hoping i'm closer to the 1000 end... lol

eating has been kinda poor i guess. i am good for breakfast and lunch. then my family comes home. lol my mom made a big turkey dinner the other night, complete with gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing... and so we have had leftovers since. (yes, with all the extras). eating better was so much easier when i lived on my own. *sigh*

all of this talk of food has made me hungry.. i'm going to find a snack. apple anyone? :)
 
just a quick post before bed...

i just finished calculating my calores for today. and i'm like 2200 calories, and 40% of that is from fat! haha and 35% of each protein and carbs. ugh. i thought i did okay. was that damn turkey pot pie my mom made for dinner from the leftover turkey. can't wait till all of that is gone. i thought i did alright today too!!

anyways, night all. tomorrow, i will enter it into the food log BEFORE i eat it :) ... and i am going out for dinner with a girlfriend, so i will be challenged into eating something healthy. fingers crossed
 
today has been alright. ate relatively well, but a lot of carbs - was already at 90g of carbs after lunch. just finished my P90X workout (Biceps and Back). I did Ab Ripper today too, which is usually a tough one for me to get myself to do after 1 hour of already working out. but i did it. i have to say though, not such a big fan of the Biceps and Back video... just like 50 minutes of bicep curls and pull-ups. borrring.

anyways. currently at 850 calories for the day. in pretty good shape i think. going out for dinner with my girlfriends tonight though, so could be tough. i am PLANNING on just getting a salad, but we will see how that turns out. have to harnass my will power and skip the pasta section of the menu.

You're doing great! I don't think you should be too worried about your diet! Are you following the one with P90X? I mean, you're going to want to be eating lots of protein doing that program!! And I'm sure you're burning A LOT too :)

You're doing great Katie :) I always find counting calories hard (and depressing!)...i always think I'm doing really good, and then I add up my calories for ONE meal, and I'm like "WHAT?!!?! You've GOT to be kidding!!!" ..because it'll be awful! But the people on here have been great at explaining that even though you have high calories in some food, they can be good calories...it's all about balance...waaaaaaay too confusing for me!!!

I'm up in Canada (Nova Scotia!)...at the end of may, we have the bluenose race here! TONS of people join, and there's lots of different levels! A friend and I want to do the 5k ~ so I started the couch to 5k running plan! It's pretty good! (Well, I did 2 days, then went away...and so I'm just going to restart :D ) ... but it has you doing interval training, and then working up to long stamina!!

Let me know if you start it! I would love to know your progress :) It might spur me on!

hey! thats awesome about the running program. i will have to check it out. i have heard about it lots, but never really looked into it. i'll let you know :) awesome job on getting started with that. often the hardest part. and thanks for helping me feel better about my diet. lol i had another tough day that way again, which is the area i know i need to be stricter with myself on if i am going to reach my goal. cracking the whip perhaps. :) thank you for your encouragement and kind words. always a pleasure :D


today... day 39 (i think). no workout, skipped it. I am noticiing that i am skipping a lot of thursdays, which is yoga. maybe i don't like yoga? or maybe its the 90 minute time frame needed (compared to 60 minutes or less for all other videos) that turns me off. but i dind't have time tonight, cause i met with a friend for coffee (chai tea latte, with full foam haha) and to see The King's Speech. Ate relatively poorly the rest of the day. lol

tomorrow will be better... other than my planned binge drinking. but THOSE calories are worth it lol night all.
 
just finished my workout for the day. really wasn't feeling up to it, for some reason. and now i feel drained. considering a nap. hahaha. i have a big drive ahead of me, and then a night of drunken shinenagens with my college roommate. pretty excited, cause i don't get to see this friend much anymore. blowing my "diet" right out of the water, but its worth it sometimes right? :D

maybe i'll have some stories tomorrow for you :p :cheers2:

i am in the worst mood today. haha well, my mood is not that bad. but i am jsut really NOT in the mood to workout or eat well. it's family day, and my parents are home, being lazy, so i am home being lazy. but being bored and lazy (which i often am these days due to my lack of hours at work) puts me in a cranky mood... which probably not helped by the fact that it is that time of the month. ugh.

the weekend was bad for eating and stuff. i worked out on friday, but skipped saturday and sunday, leaving me with 4 workouts under my belt for the week. not bad, considering. I also ate my monthly fast food meal (McDonalds) on saturday, and was conned into mcdonalds again for breakfast the next mornign. SOOO gross. :( never again.

and now i am trying to muster up the will power to force myself into my workout clothes and turn tony on. "keep pushing play"..... just really not in the mood.

i hope you all are feelign and doing better than i am. :)

you are totally right! it isn't about "bad" vs. "good" foods. that is how we set ourselves up for failure, right? lol thats the diet mentality, and i want a lifestyle change. everything in moderation, 'tis the motto of the day i think. haha thank you for reminding me of that :D thanks for stopping by again. i really do find it motivating to have people cheering me on and reminding me of how well i am actually doing, because it really IS easy to forget!



yesterday was a better day. i am still working minimal hours.. seriously, like 0-10 hours a week. i ACTUALLY job searched a bit yesterday, which i find those most unpleasant thing to do. that's how bored and restless i am becoming. but my workout went amazing. it was plyo, which i always look forward to. it kicks my butt every week, but i can feel that it is not as hard as the first couple times i did it. i can FEEL my progress through this video, which is such an awesome feeling.

today is the dreaded back and biceps video again. death. last time of this phase though... cause it's week 7, and i have a recovery week and then the LAST phase :D

not sure i am seeing results like i did in round one though. maybe i am just getting used to it, or my eating has been that much worse, or because i am not working outside, moving around. instead, i am sitting on the couch most of the day watching weight-loss shows (ohh, the irony). my boyfriend hasn't seemed as impressed with my weight loss this round either. last round, he couldn't keep his hands off of me and was constantly showering me with compliments on how good i looked and how sexy i was (he always said these things, even before, they were just so much more often during the program). He still tells me this during this round, but there is a serious difference, and it is disheartening. i'm not sure if i am not getting similar results, or if he is just distracted with school. i'm worried we are drifting... :(

anyways... going for sushi dinner with an old friend tonight before she moves away. sad. i'll try to be good. does anyone know if sushi is good for you or not? there's a lot of rice, but also a lot of fish and protein. buuut i think i saw somewhere that 2 rolls is like 490 calories. :S anyone have any input? haha thanks.

happy hump-day. friday's a-coming (for all those workers... the weekends just kind of blend in these days.....)
