Today was fine, began the end of the year clean-out on my classroom...taught the same lesson three periods in a row to the 5th graders (ugh!) and went to an 8th grade dance with my husband.
I told a kid (and not the first time I've used this phrase with my kids) 'You're annoying the crap out of me today' He gasped and I immediately thought---shit, he's so telling his mom. So I might hear it tomorrow, which would make it trip number two to the office for me saying something bad to a kid. Oh well, can't change it now so why bother sweatin' it until something comes of it right?
Also, the principal asked me and another teacher if we could put together a scene for the superintendents 'apple award' ceremony on Friday, fine, we picked the scene that the super. wanted and I talked to the principal about the sound system over there, they have hand held wireless mics--perfect! I told the other teacher and she's like, they're not using the headsets I said 'no, it's way to much work for a 10 minute presentation' and she said 'well if I have to do all this work, you have to work hard too!' I said 'I'm not spending a day setting up the sound system at another school (2 speakers on stands, a mixer, 5 head set mics, 5 routers, a radio, wires and extension cords--which all have to be channeled into the mixer and sound checked) for a 10 minute presentation.' She said 'I'm telling Cooper (principal)' I said 'Fine, we already talked about it' So at the end of the day she's like 'We're using the wireless headsets, I talked to Cooper and she's going to talk to you' I said 'I'm not setting it up...I'll call out on Friday before I spend my whole day (Field day mind you) setting up that pain in the ass sound system for a ten minute presentation.' It's ridiculous actually, her saying that I need to work harder when she's the one who missed at least 3 of the Cinderella rehearsals AND the last performance!!! She didn't put together the 16 page program, make the posters, flyers, and tickets! She didn't bother to sit down with the choreographer, the costume designer, or the set painter to get things all on level...Boy that bitch just pissed me off. I'm liable to go postal on her tomorrow if the principal pulls me into that office to say that I'm to take Friday morning and set up our sound system at a school that already has a sound system in place. There's no freakin' way I'm doing it. All the shit I've already done for her---they can hold a damn microphone in their hand. Grr...I'm so mad at her.
