Kaitie's Open Diary

Hi Kaitie
Just dropped in to check out your diary, after you encouragement on mine, i thought i'd come for a sticky beak at yours!
Wow! i am really amazed at your stamina!! It seems you are full of energy and giving your weight loss efforts your total comittment! Congratulations.
I also hope your husband is going well, it sounds like he is also trying hard. You will both realise that the hard work is well worth it in time... when you can enjoy your new, skinnier life together!

I can't wait for the 'skinny' version of me!

At the moment I'm re-reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I'm re-reading them all in order this summer. :) I know...but I'm addicted...I could read Harry Potter all day. :)

It's official....I am no longer a newbie! *thank goodness*

Well, I walked a mile today in 20 minutes (ok 20 minutes and 24 seconds) which I was pretty happy about. The faster I can walk the more ground I can cover in less time. I'm thinking about just riding the bike next week and not walking. Fitday says that you burn just as many calories riding the bike but in half the time it takes to walk. So I could double my calorie burning (if I can last for a half hour on the bike)!!! I've done 420 situps this week at 55 pounds and I still feel the burn there so I think my goal will be almost the same for next week...well if I do 110 tomorrow and saturday that will be 640 ...maybe I'll up it to 700. Orphah says to do 300 a day but I don't think I can do that just yet. She must have abs of steal. Oh yeah...that major sports bra I ordered came in yesterday and I like it! It makes my chest look so freakin' small...I can actually see my gut--now if only I could see my shoes :) I'm scared as heck to step on that scale tomorrow...what if it hasn't changed at all or worse...it says I've gained 20 pounds!!! Oh my gosh, it's too stressful. I might have to start weighing myself more than just Fridays...the mental torture! Assuming that I've been fairly accurate with my fitday account I really should have dropped about 2.5 pounds this week...although that little part of me is hoping that I've dropped 10 (lol). If only it was that easy.

Thanks for listening....it really does help. :)

Hey K,

you're doing great! You are soooo close to reaching your situp goal and that's great! The scale will be kind to you!

Go Raiders!

Yes you were right! The scale was VERY kind to me this morning. I've been nervous all week that I've been working for nothing but alas... 5.5 pounds of me are gone forever!!! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! 196 pounds. I hope I can lose just as much in the next two weeks. It'd be nice to be down 15 pounds before school starts but I will not get my hopes up, especially since mother nature's knocking on my door some time next week. But yeah....7.5 pounds lighter! Yippee!!!

Hubby is doing well. His trainer has been really workin' him hard. We've been to the gym for 2 weeks now and I can't wait to see his results on Tuesday. Sadly no one has a scale that goes up that high so we have to go to a GNC in the mall. Kind of nerve-racking to have to weigh yourself in public but you gotta do what you gotta do. He weighed in at 494 pounds and 8 ounces on Tuesday July 25th. I'm hoping that he's down at least 10 pounds. Big guys usually drop weight a lot faster so I'm kindof hoping for more than that. But we'll see.

Hmmm...if every 10 pounds is a dress size...I must be close to moving down soon!! I actually can't wait for my tummy to shrink a little more so that my skirts don't bulge so much around the middle. I see a little (very little) difference but if I keep at it with these sit-ups my gut will be shrinking more and more each day!!!

I'm just so excited! Usually when I do a feeble attempt at a diet I get stuck at 197 pounds and then give up....two weeks into this routine and I'm past my usual rut!! I just want to go exercise and burn off more and more!!

*elated*

Glad to hear you're so enthusiastic!! Hope your hubby's weigh in goes well. It's good to see he's working so hard!! You two must make a great team! :)

The Dynamic Duo!

John actually mentioned to me that a couple people have been giving him encouraging words while he's working out. It's nice to see that not all people stare and make fun of the obese.

That's so great!!! :) It really is good to know that there are people encouraging him. He's very brave to want to go into a gym and work out!

Well, today's workout went well. I did 1.25 miles on the treadmill so I'll meet my goal of 8 miles this week. Next week I'm going to shake things up and ride the bike instead. (I think I've said that already) :) I squished my 500 sit-up goal and have now done 530. Tomorrow I'll do 110 more and reset the ticker...or maybe I'll do like a month goal. I don't know.

I'm going to the pet store tomorrow to see if we can adopt a cute doggie from a shelter. I hope I get the one I've been lookin' at. Her name is Sheba and she's the cutest little thing!!

Im eager to hear how your husbands weigh in has gone. Tell him he outta come on here and start some of the challenges - he outta loose more and win most lol. I can see the 2lb a week challenge will be right up his ally haha :D

wow. sounds like you've been doing great with your exercises.

awwwh. a doggie?!?! awwwh. what kinda doggie is she? heh. if you do get her, you gotta post pictures!
