jzthedetermined's Journal

What a successful weekend!!! Most of us on here (not all, but me I guess) usually GAIN weight on the weekends, so .4 is better than nothing! :D Good job!

No, thank you, and Shandy, and Trops, and Burnseed, and Paula, and anyone else who gave good advice on how to survive the "Tournament Weekend". You all made me realize that if I wasn't able to do the new lifestyle while on vacation, it was all my fault, or I would have given into all the "could have been" excuses. Being sucessful this weekend made me feel amazing... like I am getting this new life down, and owning it!!

not a :reddevil:, just the guy to go to when you need your butt kicked back into gear. and if you notice, on Paul's journal I called you our wonderful JZ. so you can't be all bad. ;)

I just feel my ears burning, especially when you are hittin the weights!! "Damn JZ and his ever riding ass... who the hell is he... I'll show that preachy back rider what I'm all about!!" ... Or something like that, !! :biggrinjester:

I don't know about the "preachy back rider" part, but hey, if it works, it works. :D I've always needed the tough lovin to get me to push myself harder. my physical therapist after I had surgery on my shoulder was an amazon with a bad attitude...I still send her a christmas card each year. without her constant pushing and proding I wouldn't be able to brush my hair with my right hand.
So, by all means, keep being an absolute terror to me, I like it. ;)

I hear you there!! My physical therapist for my knee, was a giant man named Vic. I called him every name in the book.... but by the end of my 6 months of sessions... I called him friend!

exactly. Janice is still the devil incarnate for me, but she was the perfect person to push me through my stretches and strength training. without her my dancing would look really stupid. can you imagine a belly dancer that couldn't lift her arm higher than parallel to the floor?
looks like you're the new devil incarnate. lucky you huh? ;)

Day 22

Morning upper body workout... Exceptional!! Increased weight on every lift. I'm starting to live for that pump that makes my shirt sleeves snug!! 9 out of 10. Just a little more intensity next time for a 10.

Breakfast - Egg beater ommlette, yogurt
snack 1 - R2DS and whey, apple
lunch - 2 turkey roll-ups, fat free string cheese
snack 2 - pearapple (getting end of season I believe :(), yogurt
dinner - grilled Salmon, mixed veggies (mainly asparagus spears)
snack 3 - 20 almonds

Good workout and good eating. Day was a success!

I'll do what I can!! ;) ;)

Kudos to both of you for "suffering" through therapy! I went a couple of times for my knee, then decided I didn't have time for it and it took my knee 2 years to get to a point where I feel comfortable running or jumping. I'm an idiot!

Well hot diggity damn, how the hell did you ever get to the point where you needed to lose 100 lbs, anyway? :D With that attitude! Shit! Must have been the ex....

Great work JZ!! Sounds like the kind of day where, when over, you can lay your head down knowing you KICKED ASS!

Make tomorrow that 10. Make it happen!!! :hurray:

Yep. I was always very athletic, and active, and outgoing, and full go, all day long, and somewhere, I decided to give up everything to try and keep the EX happy. In the _______'s defense, she never asked me to, but she sure loved all the attention, kind deeds, and time I gave up with her for her to follow her own hobbies (running, soccer, being completely selfish :D). Anyways, I AM ALMOST BACK and it feels TERRIFIC!!! I can't believe it got to the point it did either, but through a shit ton of thought, I know for absolute certain, I will never give up on me again! Thanks for the commpliment B.

Day 23

CARDIO morning!!! I did 25 minutes of jump rope. Kicked my butt. I didn't count Trops, I am going to buy a rope that counts for you this week. Quit after that, knew I was doing more later!

Breakfast - Smart Start with skim milk
snack 1 - yogurt and large apple
lunch - grilled chicken and broccoli
snack 2 - R2DS
dinner - tuna fish wrap, baby carrots, yogurt

I went to the local school after dinner with the kiddos, they played on the playground, I did HIIT on rollerblades... AWSOME workout. I did about 20 minutes worth of 30/60, when a group of highschool kids showed up with hockey nets and asked if I wanted to play. I bummed a stick from one of them, and it was on! My kids came running over to watch, and were my little cheerleading section. It was a real good time. The kids asked where I played and how long, and joked around with me, the "OLD" man as they were calling me... I'm 32 you young whipper snappers... Geez. Went home, got the tribe in bath, pj's, and off to bed, then watched a bit of discovery.

Good day, lots of "randomness" in the workout, but didn't even feel like a workout! A very good day!!

Nice job JZ! Exercise that doesn't feel like exercise is the best kind! I know for me, I can spend an hour making up a dance and the time goes by so much faster than say staring at a blank wall while on the treadmill. Sounds like the kids had fun too! As usual, you rock! :D

You're welcome and seems like you were the "Giver" in the relationship--like I was. Isn't it great to GIVE to YOURSELF? :D Glad you had a great workout yesterday with the kids--don't let the munchkins tell ya you're "old", they will get there eventually!! Nice cardio morning--Paul had one too. I spent some of my morning trying to stand on my head :D

Damn, JZ. I haven't done anything real in over a week, cardio wise. I will probably jump rope Friday. I better get some good jumps in, too. Perhaps I'll get one of those counting ropes to see what it has to offer. If you get one before me, let me know how it works out. I'll do the same for you.

It's the first time in 8 no, 10 years I've done things or given things to myself, and yes, it feels good. Oh, the "munchkins I played street hockey with were High School aged. LOL I guess I'm still old to them... Little bastards!! Hey, great job on the headstands... just don't develop a flat spot on the top of your head to be used as a shelf during... or I mean watching the game! :biggrinjester: :piggy: :reddevil: ;) ;)

I'm sure you'll have a great jumpin' session. I will let you know about the counting rope if I do get it before you. I think it can only help me.? ??? There is one at Dick's, I just have to get myself over there.
