I know what you mean about tracking the calories. Dont know how you plan on tracking them website vs paper but you should start. I tracked on paper for the longest time. The funny thing is you will see that you start eating the same foods over and over. Good work on the food, keep it up.

Also, do you have a starting weight listed somewhere? I may have missed it. What is your weigh in day. Look forward to seeing your progress.

Hopefully I don't fall in a rut with the same foods over and over again... that would probably get pretty old and hard to follow after a while. I have some good meal ideas, I just need to pre-prepare them on Sunday's for the whole week that way they are convienent to grab and go!

Calories - Online. I know it's important, just a matter of doing it.
Starting Weight - 285
Weigh in Day - Monday mornings
 
Hey JZ, looks like you're doing great with your eating. I don't know how much of an at-home-cooker you are, but I've gotten a TON of healthy recipes from here and on kraftfoods.com...It helps keep me from falling into the rut of having the same meals over and over, and bonus, kraftfoods has a lot of kid-friendly meals if any of your little ones like helping out in the kitchen.
Good luck getting some rest and figuring out a less hectic schedule. I've been trying to do that and I've only got 2 kids pulling me in different directions all day. So, if you get a plan figured out, be sure to share your miracle solution!! :D

AM eliptical machine for 40 minutes+ heavybag work 20 minutes = great workout! 8.5 - 9 on scale of 10.
Breakfast- Carb Control Oatmeal, 1 hardboiled egg, one glass skim milk
Snack 1 - non-fat yogurt, 1 large pear
Lunch - 2 - turkey sandwiches on wheat 100 calorie english muffin, 10 baby carrots.
Snack 2 - R2D shake (easy while I'm at work)
Dinner - brownrice and chicken and salsa mixed up, green beans, 15 almonds

8-16oz. bottles of water through the day

WOW that is impressive and a great day! :party:
 
Day 3 of my new life

EARLY morning lower body workout went wonderful. Heavy on the deads, med on the traveling lunges, med on the hack squats (don't seem to bother my knee :D ) 5 min wall sit (damn it's been way to long since I did those), leg ext/leg curls. Also worked abs. Entire workout took 46 minutes. 7 on 1-10 scale. Must try harder next time!!

Breakfast- egg beaters scrambled eggs, pine apple, fat free shredded cheese sprinkled over the eggs, and one glass skim milk
Snack 1 - non-fat yogurt, 1 large bananna
Lunch - left over chicken brownrice and greenbeans from last night
Snack 2 - R2D shake (easy while I'm at work)
Dinner - Salmon on grill with grilled green/red/yellow peppers, 4 large Olives, 1 small peach

8-16oz. bottles of water through the day

I did not track calories, need to start that tomorrow??? Yes, tomorrow!
Day 3 was a success, bring on day four!! Maybe I'll start the calorie online tracking next week!

A "R2D Shake" is just a "ready to drink meal replacement shake". I like to abbrev8 everything. I use Myoplex Advantage...pretty good, and fills in some of the nutrients I may not be getting.

I am a structural steel fabrication saleman/project manager. I supply steel for buildings, and make sure they go together good.
 
so when is the first day back on the ice?

October 11th!! Pretty geeked! Should be some stellar compitition in OML!!! LMFAO!! Actually, I'm anxious to play again. I coached everyday on ice, and scrimmaged the players, but not quite the same, plus I have not coached in 6 years! Where the hell does time go?!?!?!
 
Gotcha! I didn't know you played hockey JZ?! Where did I miss that? :blush5:

No big deal, couple of posts around here. Mostly in Burnseed's BDA Pic thread... it's kinda like hockey central over there! LOL

On a side note, I know this thread isn't filled with drama, but feel free to swing in anytime. You are always welcome and appreciated! :waving:
 
you need a weight ticker :) im trying to skim through your diary to find your progress but i have the attention span of a circus monkey lol :)

Leigh has a great saying which I totally contradict but believe in. Do as little as possible to get the results. So if making better eating choices combined with activity works and your are getting consistent results you're happy with, stick with it. But from experience it gets harder the less you have to lose. and inevitably you'll hit a plateau, which in most cases a little more effort should work.

in the meantime enjoy! and have fun! sounds like hockey is right up that alley!
