Justina - wedding bells ...countdown to June 2014

Well, I haven't been around since June - loads of traveling, moving and other fun & stressful stuff.
Stress is still on (job hunting - i may be in luck...fingers crossed - I'll find out tomorrow) but I gonna have to make this weight-loss business work.
I think I need this website to keep me on track. It has ALWAYS helped me. I have been wanting to come back since September - just kept putting it off.

Anyway my weight has been yo-yoing like crazy. Even though I have been eating pretty decent. No processed or junk food. So as usual, the problem has been portion control and lack of exercise...
& now I am starting to panic about my wedding...

Wedding bells..I am married already - we eloped in January 2012, but it was just me, my man & a justice of the peace. So we are now planning a real wedding with friends and family in Europe (that's where I am from) & I really REALLY wanna look good.

I will weigh myself tomorrow morning and take it from there...

7 months to go.....!

YAY! You're BACK!!!! Can't believe it's been so long already lol. I'm in the same job hunting boat as you, bleeaugh. It sucks. It seems a lot harder than before being a student though, I think people see student and then just assume I'm unreliable.

Glad you're all moved and settling/settled in!!!! How are you liking the new location?? I'm loving mine, haha!!

Wish I could get married again. That was the craziest party ever.

Good luck with the job and getting back on track. Nothing motivates like a major event where you are the focus. No pressure. ;)

Welcome back!

I too have my wedding coming up June 2014. Also a friends wedding in May, and due to dress shipping etc my initial plan was end of this year. My final, no excuses, must be done date is end of Feb because bridesmaid dress shopping for my friends wedding starts again in March, and I will need to get my wedding stuff fitting/altered etc too.

Good luck! Sounds like you are motivated, now you just have to get the rest of your body and brain to cooperate :) You can do it!!

Hey you guys - thanks so much for your posts!!! I knew I had to be back for motivation :grouphug:

Bittersweet day here:

a) i weighed in up 255 - boohoo - no time for crying over this.... it is what it is - action needed!

b) I got the job!!! yay! after 2 months of looking for job I finally bagged one - so very happy!!

Now I will have a bit more structure to my life - i have to work out when to do what...to be honest its funny I am usually better with my time when I have less of it! C'est la vie!!

I start a food/exercise diary tomorrow.

Congrats on the new job! That's great!

A wedding is the perfect reason to stay motivated and on track. Looking forward to your posts! :)

Welcome back Justina! Congrats on your wedding, I'm sure it'll give you all the motivation you need to lose some weight. :)

Congratulations on the job.

With focus - you can lose a ton of weight before that wedding in June... Go for it girl!!! There will be a ton of photos taken that day - and everyone on the the forum wants you to look fantastic for that special day.
Brilliant motivation!

Welcome back Justina! I remember reading your old diaries, are you the one who makes all the healthy and delicious meals? Don't you have some recipes for some Hungarian dishes? I am Hungarian, btw, and I love to cook as well. You can do it! We can do it! I am in the same weight range and weight goal as you, so I'll keep you company on the journey if you don't mind....
Take care, Red

Omega, Mandy, jen & Red - thanks for stopping by & your encouragement!

I couldn't post until now. I can do a quick one. I just started my new job yesterday and with the car share with my husband it's a nightmare...What would be a 20 min drive to work - it's now over an hour in heavy traffic and the same on the way home....TIRING!! So we have to get up at 6 30 instead of 7 and we get home at 8pm instead of 6pm.

So i lose the time to exercise. I am so upset - wish we could afford a second. this will drive me crazy...

I can actually report a 1lb loss. I have been eating well.

I just need to find away around this car situation...yeah there is NO public transport. Sigh.

Good day everyone!!

Yay for the job! Boo for the car situation. I am SO glad we have 2 vehicles now, but it does cost us a good chunk, especially with my fiance being a new driver. Lack of public transport definitely does not help you.

With the new job will you be able to afford a new car perhaps? Even just something for like $1-2k to get you from A to B in town? Or perhaps car pooling with someone at work?

While it seems like during the week you don't have much time for exercise, you will still have the weekends. And perhaps you can go for walks over your lunch break at work? You will figure something out :)

Thanks Emily for the encouragement!

Icychic -I don't know people at work yet - we are thinking about leasing a car in January....which is not the best solution but could work for us. THere is someone on my team who does walk at lunch time - I might join her!

Hanna - yay! Good to see you!!!

omg!! where does time go? I literally have none with this new job and car sharing. I hope we get into a routine soon.

Good news!!! I lost 2.5 lbs this week!! This purely for eating well.
& I joined the gym!!!! So now I have to go to make my money's worth - I will try to go 3-4 times a week...
I also wanna go to the pool....maybe come January...will see.

I am trying to get to your diaries this afternoon! I really do appreciate all your support!
HUGS XOXOXO

Thanks Jen :)

So as I said I joined the gym!! YAY!!! I went today for the first time and I really enjoyed the workout.
We bought a membership for me & with unlimited guest access - so my husband can come every time I go. & It costs only $10 a month/person!!!! The gym is no frills but it's huge! I mean huge - which is just great! It was almost empty! I wonder how packed it's going to be come January & new year resolutions!

Work - it's okay - it's not very exciting - but hey it's a paycheck right? I also have temptation in the office. Someone brought in cake on Friday!!! That's just MEAN. I have to stay on top of things with my home made desserts - low cal/healthy - such as Lucy's banana cookies! They are yum!!!

I am trying to get to everyone's diary!! I hope I can do a better job this coming week. Last week was mental! I guess I need to get into some sort of routine.

Tomorrow - temptation - we are going out as it's veteran's day so husband is getting a free meal - I need to stick with salad! But just in case I am having soup for lunch.... I am taking no chances! Wish me luck! :D

It will take a while to adjust to working again and fitting anything else in, but it will happen. I'm happy that you had a successful week. I'm so pleased you are back!

Welcome back and good luck with your new job! I'm on time limited invalid pension right now but now it looks like I have to do some work training. It's 10 years since I last was working apart from an eight week long work test in 2007. I have tried so hard to get an positition for my work training that suits my educaion but it seems hopeless even though I would work for free for one year. And it is not that there are no opportunities, it is just that they won't give me a chance. I can't even imagine how hard it would be for me to get an employment with a sallary.

Quercus: Thank you! Yeah adjusting takes some time....but I think I'll be ok :)

TikTak - Thanks! finding job is super hard - Internship type of things are hard too. Don't give up!

Monday. I am doing it. I multi tasking. After work my husband picked me up and we went out for dinner. I had salad! & It was so yummy tooo!
Today we defo had no time for the gym - tomorrow I can tetris the gym in!

Today I had:
B: B&J toast
L: Potato-carrot-celery soup + 2 ezekiel toasts, few dried mangoes, apple
D: Oriental Grilled Chicken salad

Exercise: Nada

I am cooking right now for tomorrow and the day after. Well I made coconut cookies & rice salad for lunch tomorrow. & I cooked garbanzo beans - I started to buy dried garbanzo beans - it's half the price for double the amount - the catch is that you have to soak them overnight and cook them for 1.5 hr. So I ll have them in a salad on Wednesday....
Becasue tomorrow it's gym time!! I have a window between finishing work & picking up my husband from school
I hope it won't snow...never driven in snow - especially not with all year tires...

Fingers crossed.
