Hello my name is Emily I am 21 years old and I am finally ready to do it. I need to loose the weight because I want to have back surgery. I hurt myself when I was 14 and now I have 3 bulging disks, Rehumitoid arthritus I have no cartalage in my knees ankles or wrists. I need to get this weight off of me because it is killing me. Also I am letting the weight hurt my love life.

If there is anyone out there that can give me tips on how to get myself motivated to get out of bed inthe morning that would be awsome!

and if there is anyone that wants a buddy. Someone to watch me and I watch them, you know keeping tabs to make sure we are doing what we are saying we are doing. I think that is the only way that I am going to be able to do this.

My email is ejdubinsky@yahoo.com

thanks!:grouphug:

Motivation comes from within you - no one but you can make you do something...

Ask yourself - and write the reasons down -why you want to lose weight - the honest reasons.. ya know the deep down secret reasons and remind yourself of them every day - multiple times a day if that helps you.

Remind yourself that this is also a process and it takes time... it's a lifestyle change that will take learning new habits and hcanging behavior -not a short term diet.

Start yourself a diary - it's a great way to get support and for others to get to know you - read other diaries -that's how you get to know others.. .you don't need to read them all - just pick the ones of people you connect with

Join a club or a challenge here - basically -get involved.. don't wait for something to come to you - go get it..

and lastly and most importantly - read the stickied threads around the forum -they will give you a ton of useful information that will aid you on your journey.

good luck and welcome to the site

welcome: I just started about 2 weeks ago and I feel really goooooood! I wish the weight would come off faster because the results are exiting, but from reading this forum and other internet sites it isnt healthy to lose all at once especially if you want to keep it off. For me motivation is very hard since the weight comes off very slowly. In the past I would go on diets and crash. I have been dieting for years. In the past 2 weeks I am not considering myself to be on a diet. I do count my calories and watch what I eat. Counting my calories helps me because it keeps me focused for some reason and it reminds me that I need to lose weight and it is possible. I havent worked out this week though, I am being very lazy. That is one thing I have to make myself do. (rather be lounging around watching tv)

If you got any ideas for motivation please let me know. Oh, the ticker is fun..it also reminds me of my progress and it allows me not to quit....i would be upset if it started going in the other direction.

Good luck!!!
