Just one quarter!

Im so tired of these fish. Past two days, Ive done two 50% water changes each day. My mom keeps giving me shit about them, telling me to put them in a bowl, and all this other crap. So many suggestions, BUT NONE OF IT IS BASED ON AN OUNCE OF FACT! Shes telling me to do things she knows nothing about! Im glad I did all of this research on them, or else I might have thought my mom knew what she was talking about(which is clearly not the case) and taken her advice. This just makes me question everything else that shes told me. Ughh.

I have to take out the new filter that is too strong for the tank(sucks the fish towards it) and let it dry so we can return it. You wanna know what my parents said about the filter being too strong?

Mom: "Well then how about they just go into the corner so it wont suck them in, theyll figure it out."

Dumbfucking son of a bi- I mean step-dad: "WELL UHHHHH- YOU KNOW SALMON GO UPSTREAM! FISH ARE STRONG JUST LEAVE THEM ALONE THEYLL GET STRONG-*points to fish struggling against current* SEE THEYRE DOING FINE LEAVE IT ALONE."

Which I then proceeded to call them both retarded, told them to get the hell out of my room and do hours of research, then come back and talk.
Which in turn my step-dad proceeded to call me retarded, then I asked him, "the all knowing goldfish-expert," what he was basing his facts off of.

I want to go downstairs and pummel the shit out of both of them right now.
Ughhh. I hate people who act like they know something when they are so blarringly wrong.

Oh, and Im usually not THAT rude to my parents, they have been suggesting stupid ideas to me for the fish for the past 4 days without doing any research.
 
I think my fish is gonna be dead in like.. 5 minutes. Just floatin on the top with the current.... not moving at all..

NO WAIT IT MOVED!(after a gentle poke..) And nowww its back at the top again.. enjoying the current pushing him around in circles in his last moments of life.

:( Damn it. He was the stronger of the two too.
 
Lol. Now Ill have to worry about killing the second one.

Thanks though, although I should be feeling horrible for subjecting my fish to this. Ignorance IS NOT bliss.

Food for the day:

Breakfast: 3 eggs and a slice of turkey
Snack:Apple
Lunch: Clif bar
Snack: Brown rice w/ parmesan cheese and some fake butter
Dinner: Wholewheat pasta w/ organic toe-may-toe sauce and parmesan cheese(lol I need to cut back on cheese. :D)

Ha. Funny story time.

Okay. So I put the fish that died into a bowl in the bathroom because we were going to return it and get a refund(my mom is religious about return items), and my sister told me what happened at school. Turns out, her cat Leah(Leroy), who is OBSESSED with my fish, went into the bathroom and got the fish. So my mom hears the cat playing with something in the dining room but shes busy so she waits a few minutes before she goes and looks... yep. The cat was playing with the dead fish, after bringing it downstairs from the bathroom. And now its in a plastic bag in the refrigerator.

Whenever I even walk past her she runs, probably because shes been getting in so much trouble lately. Stupid cat.

Heres Leroy clearly displaying her interest in fish(not my tank though).

Okay so I just went through your whole diary from top to bottom (don't try that with mine, it'll take too long), and I've discovered a couple of things.

It was an enjoyable read, you definitely had me laughing a couple times here.

You're one of my teammates in the six week challenge.

I usually put chopped up turkey burger or chicken in with the rice. Om nom nom. :conehead:

Once I got the diet right, it just seemed to stick. If I see my weight has gone up, I know Im slacking with my diet and I reevaluate it and start over again. (I got up to 159 after being 154, freaked out, and took me about a month to get my old diet back. I had been eating too much cake/white rice/chocolate. :D)

Look back at last year. Did that seem long? A year is nothing if youre working your ass off the whole time! :sifone:

Man you've had some fishy issues lately... You're not destined to be a fish keeper I don't think. =/ It's ok. :hug: lol.

Food for the day:
Breakfast: Some flax crap granola cereal and soymilk
Lunch: Clif bar
Snack: Brown rice w/ taco meat(Ive been feeling sluggish lately and I think its the lack of meat.. So I gotta start eating some more.)
Dinner: 3eggs & an english muffern. (I KNOW I SAID I CANT EAT IT BUT I think Ive been eating too little so I need to eat just a few more things so yeah.)

Exercise:
C25k Week 2- Day 1
Did up until 10 minutes(then side cramps decided to come and visit), then put incline on 5 and walked that for 8 minutes. 1.078 miles.
15 minutes weights. Im going to have some strong arms at the end of this 6 week challenge. :D
20 minutes on treadmill. Went .8 miles, but I had it on 5-7 incline most of the time.


Im going to do 15 minutes of weight lifting exercises, and 20 minutes of non weight lifting exercises! :D
Im not going to start off by doing too much because I dont want to wear myself out on the first day...

I love my brown basmati rice too. Hey, you've been a real stalwart persisting with your diary. I hope some more people come around. You're doing great work but I heard we need a minimum of 1200 calories for all our organs (including heart) to function - but you are really enthusiastic anyway and I hope you enjoy the forum. Congratulations on the weight you've already lost, that's amazing.

Yeah, I think Ill calorie count for a few days until I get up to 1200 calories then Ill know how much I should be eating.
My mom always cooks the brown rice in organic chicken broth instead of water. Tastes reallyyy good.

hey there, looks like you're off to a good start. counting your calories to see where you should be at sounds like a good plan.
 
Yeah, Ive lost 3lbs since I started this diary and started being strict with my eating again, and since I wasnt eating all that bad to start with, I think Ive been eating too little. Poo.
