Just donated blood

So I just donated blood a few hours ago (12 noon), and the lady said not to lift heavy weights for 24 hours, but then on the Red Cross website I think it says 5 hours.

Anyone have any experience/opinion on this? It was my 1st time donating blood and I feel fine now (3:40 pm), and probably won't work out til 7pm at the earliest.

I was planning on doing around 3x10 bench press (155lbs), Some incline bench, probably 6 sets of 2 different tricep exercises (3 each), some abs, and maybe even some back and leg work (not sure if I can lift tomorrow so I may do full body tonight)

Thanks for any input. If I'm just going to be a little more tired then I'm OK with that, I just don't wanna pass out randomly in the weight room.

with less blood in your system, your body is less able to carry oxygen to the muscles you are going to exhaust while training. Working out should be fine (i would take the day off though), since you may feel dizziness and disorientation due to lack of RBC carrying O2 and clearing CO2. Stop at the first sign of fatique. Blurred vision and seeing spots are other common side effects of vigorous exercise following loss of blood.

I'd wait til the next day. You may not have any complications if you train on the day, but it's probably not worth the risk.
