Just a little bit more to go ...

Good mindset

Hi, Kara!

I'm a newbie and noticed your post, you seem to have a good head on your shoulders. I've been trying to lose those last 15 pounds for about 15 years! I'll keep my eye out for your posts, your writing is very motivating to me, thank you.

Hey everyone .... sorry to be so behind in keeping up my journal. I've been swamped with projects and now I have family in town for the next several weeks. Thanksgiving is in full swing already around the KaraCooks house and finding down time is a bit crazy.

I've been participating in several challenges on another forum and that's taking up a lot of my time as well. I can only update so many places at once before I get overwhelmed.

My plan for the rest of the holidays is to maintain my weight. If I could lose more, that would be awesome, but I have to be realistic and not set myself up for failure. With family in town, holiday food, work related events, and so forth, there are too many opportunities to eat non-diet style. So I'm going to practice moderation and try to maintain in the 165-170 range over the next month and a half.

(The one Advent challenge that Omega is running that I'll be joining has a specific point value for maintaining and so that's how I'll be participating there.)

I've also made a commitment to exercise every day in November (and I'll probably do it again in December). I have missed a couple of days this month, but becuase of the commitment, I've "made up" the time by adding 10 mins to my cardio workouts the rest of the week. It's something that I wouldn't have done in the past - so even though I've missed a few days, I've overall gotten more exercise than I would have.

What else is going on? Gosh ... that's the bulk of it. I'm keeping up my journal here:

Check in now and again if you can!
