just 15 more pounds!!!!

Hi, everyone. I am new here...been reading some of the post here, and just though I would ask for some advise for my self. Ok I am 30 years old (recently) and I have 2 kids, 6 and 13. Yes I started young... any way before I got pregnant I weighed a whole 115 pounds. :) I am 5'7 and now after going through 2 pregnancies I weigh 142 pounds. I dont think that I am fat or anything like that but I would like to be toned. I dont have a problem with any fat in my midsection it is all in my thighs and my booty.. yep the booty is BIG!!!! I dont want to loose my booty I just want it to be more toned... any way I thick I would like to loose at least 10-15 pounds. would like to go down to a size 8 (which I am now a 10). not much . I have been trying but its like I have hit that last 10 pounds and no matter how much I exercise or diet I dont loose anything... and if I dont exercise or diet I dont gain anything. I seem to stay exactly where I am..whats up with that. I know I could probably work out a lot harder and than maybe that would work. Any way what would be a good routine of excerisize for me??

well. I get home from work and I walk my dog about 30 minutes...and then I go to the gym and work on the stair master ( which I think is making my lthgihs bigger)uggghhh, and then I do 3 reps of the leg weiths machine of 15 counts with 15pounds on each leg. and then I do 3 reps of 50 crunches... 4 days a week. but I walk my dog daily once a day. I havent been doin to much latley because I kinda just gave up... But I want to get back into it regularly but with something that will help me tone and look leaner not bigger...

Why don't you do some fullbody workouts at the gym? Your best bet for burning calories is increasing your lean muscle mass.

(of course, cardio and nutrition are important, too).

i agree with evo you really want to do full body. do compounds too-squats deadlifts straight legged deadlifts etc. i didn't like the stairmaster it made my butt bigger, i gave that one up ages ago, lol. full body is the way to go. firms up the whole body and its good for your bones.

ok.. so should I consider my walking my dog part of my cardio.. and then do an hour of free weights at the gym. or should I include more of the cardio like on the treadmill...I keep hearing alot about the pilate...which I do have a tape on it...would that do some good. I havent tried that one yet... I just dont want to get desperate and start up on those diet pills... also I cant afford to loose any more pounds on my chest... that is where always seems to come off first. sucks man I dont have a lot of fat there...its on my BIG BUTT!!!! geez.. I also heard that if a try to eat 1 yogurt a day that would help too!! what do think??

um yeah ur cardio is enough for the weight training you do... yeah eating right is important too yogurt is always good... otherwise i think it will b a bit of trial and error for you to figure out what suits you :) good luck

The hour of free weights 2-4 times a week is a great idea. Supplement in with some treadmill work and walking your dog a lot and you're golden.
