All right. No more fooling around.

It has taken such a long time for me to lose and keep off 30 lbs. I only have 10 more to go before I finally reach my goal weight.

Age:18
Height: 5'1
Starting weight: 150 lbs.
Current weight: 120 lbs.
Weight lost: 30 lbs.
Goal: 110 lbs.

Starting Jean/Shirt size: 11 Juniors/ XL
Current Jean/Shirt size: 3 Juniors/ S

I want to track my calorie intake because I'm not too sure how low it is. Over the summer I haven't incorporated as much exercise as I would've liked, but I ate pretty well. I'm worried that my body is burning only at the low level of calories I'm consuming, which is why it seems like I can't get out of the 120 plateau.

Advice would be very, very appreciated and helpful. :]

I'm planning on exercising at my school's gym every other day/every day if I can. In addition I'm going to eat healthier and maybe add some "loose" days for calorie shifting? What do you guys think?

Thanks so much. <3 Hope to hear from you soon!

9.23.08// Part 1:

Started off this morning with a good ol' bowl of cereal. It's not any different from my usual breakfast routine, and I'm thinking I may have to switch it up a bit to see progress...

Honey Bunches of Oats is not an ideal cereal, but it's the one on top of my fridge...and it doesn't help that mom bought the huge, super-dooper, feed-a-whole-country value pack, either.

I limit my serving to 3/4 cup, if not a little bit over that. I'm just thinking that I should get more fiber and other nutritional content with other better cereals that maybe offer an even bigger serving size?

We'll see.

And oh yeah...when Mom tempts you with a buttery croissant, don't take it.

I took a bite or two just to settle my cravings. No butter! I felt a little self-destructive after I ate it...Whoops.

Overall, today was a pretty good day health-wise.

I started off my day with a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats...I really need to add variety to my morning routine. It seems that may be one of the factors why my weight isn't moving. I tried make Green Smoothes before, and I really did like it, but I kept it up for one day. I'm going to try to get back into it and make it my breakfast sometimes. I should stock up on Boca Meat and other cereals that are "healthier" than Honey Bunches.

Afterwards I came home and ate some low fat crackers and a wedge of laughing cow cheese. A lot of grapes were consumed...

I had Chem class shortly afterwards and I went to the gym right when class ended. I did some decent minutes on the elliptical and treadmile, though I'm thinking I'm going to need more time in the gym if I want to see more results...

Had a plain ice coffee with two splendas and just a bit of skim milk for a "snack-ish" thing and I just finished my Southwest Salad with Lite Italian dressing from Chick-Fil-A. Gotta love that place. I'm addicted to this salad...The corn salsa that comes with it is so unique-- sweet, but salty at the same time. Very nice. I'm also a sweet-tea addict from Chick-Fil-A...but I decided to get an unsweetened one this time to save 130 calories. Added two splendas and it tastes all right. I suppose it's worth that 130 calorie-cut!

Aughh, I should really be writing my essay instead of updating my weight loss journal...Hmm. Just wanted to let some things out I suppose. :]

I'm really determined to reach that 10 pound goal. I'm hoping that the scale will budge soon!

Wish me luck, guys. :seeya:

Yes!

Something wonderful happened today.

I went on the Fat Loss 4 Idiots diet a week ago...Mostly because I was so sick of not seeing any further progress with my weight and I was starting to run out of ideas. Granted, the plan doesn't provide much flexibility...But I adjust it to my lifestyle from day to day mostly because I have a family who loves to eat everything at anything.

After not following the diet at all from Friday-Saturday, I went back on it yesterday...starting back on the meal plan for day 5.

I weighed myself today and I FINALLY got off the 120 lb plataeu.

Okay...it was 119 on the scale, but I'm SO happy that it finally moved.

I'm motivated. I'm pumped.

9 more pounds to go before I get to the goal that has been a dream of mine for so long.

:] Wish me luck!

Llamabean: Adorable name. XD <3
And thanks so much for keeping track of my updates. I really appreciate it!

Sooo. I stumbled upon the Alternate-Day Diet/Johnson's Upday Downday Diet...And it's another form of calorie shifting. Seemed more effective/do-able in the long-term than Fat Loss 4 Idiots [I never really liked the diet's components...it just "worked" for me when other things did not].

And I managed to lose ANOTER 1 pound!! That's a huggeeeee deal. I'm just on my third day...Half-assing it, even. I'm going to take it to the next level this week.

:] Wish me luck. I'm SO motivated!!

You guys should check this diet out. <3 I'm lovin' in.

My diet was baddd this weekend. Got out of hand with my 'up days' and 'down days'. I don't even think I had some calorie restriction days this weekend. :[

I'm going to be doing two down days to make up for this weekend, aka: strict calorie restriction...almost fasting. So. We'll see how that goes.

Shall update later!

I have a cereal suggestion for you, Fiber One. What I do is eat a bowl of that, but cut up a banana and mix it. Oh man, it's amazing! If you don't like that one, there's sooo many healthy options with cereals these days.

Okay, sorry that was such a random post. Anyways, keep up the good work and don't get too discouraged if the scale doesn't move. :D

Hey! Thanks so much for the suggestion. I had a box of fiber one on top of my fridge for a while...Mostly because I like being "regular", but I just didn't like the overall bland taste of it. I did, however, put some slices of banana with it this morning and it did fill me up for quite a while! I'll be eating it for breakfast a lot from now on. :) You were a very big help! Thank you.

OKAY.

So, I had to do two "down-days" aka: fasting/very limited calorie days in a row because last weekend was a calorie mess. On the morning of Tuesday I was very discouraged becuse after a seemingly very good day of dieting Monday I was at 119 lbs-- no change and up 1. Yesterday I did another down day with weight watcher soups, boiled eggs, smoothies with protein, and grapes...And I was at 117 this morning. :] I'm so excited.

Today was a cheat day, thankfully. My boyfriend drove all the way from his different university [2 hour drive] to spend his free day with me. It was realy sweet, so how could I say no to eating out for lunch and dinner? I did all right..Kind of bad-ish. We'll see.

Tomorrow is a down day again! Back to calorie restriction.

7 lbs to go. <3 Yes!! :blush5:
