Jump Rope?

Sure, just do it as fast and as hard as you can for 15-30 seconds then rest, by perhaps walking slowly for 1-2 minutes and repeat 4-8 times. It might be hard to keep the intensity high enough to completely fatigue you in 30 seconds or less as you get skilled at rope jumping, but it is better than not doing it. Of course the best possible exercise for HIIT is sprinting, period, either on a flat area, up a hill or even up stairs. There is something about the fact that the human body has eveloved for sprinting that makes that the most effective form of HIIT. Think about it, if you can run away from danger, you have a higher probability of survival as a cave man...

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the best length for a speed rope is for each individual? I have one that can be cut, but I'm not sure how much to take off of each end so that it is long enough and not too short.

here is a fun one I've found as an extreme-ist.
Jump double speed for 3 straight minutes.... if you fail, meaning the rope stops for any reason. drop and do 25 pushups, and try again. It is either get the 3 minutes or give 200 pushups. One works against the other..... after doing several minutes of jump and 200 pushups a couple times each week, you will gain mental focus and get to the 3 straight minutes. then use a leather rope, and do it bare footed.

should be easy for guys like ya'll on here.

What is a good distance to sprint? What is to far, or what is not far enough? TIA

I do 1500 skips/jumps for 30 minutes so I do 100 jumps per minute. How does that compare to sprinting? :)

That is an aerobic (as opposed to anaerobic) exercise. It is nothing like sprinting. For HIIT you need to be doing something that would simply kill you if you did it for more than a minute.

hey! that's an airborne logo?? do tell.

I'd also like to learn more about this "HIIT" what does that stand for?
