Jugs' Diary. I can do this.

Hey J
Still fightin the good fight?
I hope so.
You will see some results soon if you keep on track.
The smoking urges should ease up a bit very soon as your body begins to clean out.
Think of the money you will save Whats a pack cost now? Like 4 bucks here

Struggling. But getting there, thanks :)

20 cigs are €8.20 here. The ones I smoked anyway.

So, that's about 10 dollars.

hello jugs^^
thought i would drop by your diary and let you know you are doing a great job
and its sooo wonderful that you are quitting smoking its good for both your health and your wallet ^_~
see you around the forums =D

Hey jugs, just wanted to let you know I dropped by and read through your journal so far!! Good choice choosing to kick the ciggies!! I have seen the harsh results of long term smoking, NOT A GOOD THING!!
Keep fighting the fight, you are doing well so far!!

Hey Jugs... ooh I just like saying the name... jugs... Yeah okay I'm a perv, what can I say?

I quit the cigs in august of '08 and haven't looked back. I replaced the habit with a gym habit, so now I'm just not right if I don't get my daily exercise in... but its all good now. Amazing how much easier it is to breathe...

BTW, for the record, I like the way you think...

Trying to keep my mouth and hands busy! Hmmm, there are other naughty ways I'm sure :Angel_anim:

Sigh.

Yeah you had me with that quote... :D

lol- I have a dirty mind from time to time. (Or always if I'm honest. lol. )

Thanks to you all for stopping by and taking the time to post.
All this support really helps me, as I'm sure it does for us all.

I got weighed this morning, and I'm very peed off cause I only lost half a pound.

I'm eating really good, and going to the gym. I was at the gym again this morning, did 20mins intervals on threadmill, 15mins on bike, 15mins on cross trainer and 45 mins weights.
Will skip the weights tomorrow though.

I'm really fustrated. I may even go outside and SCREAM.

it's really hard to do, but you musn't concentrate directly on the scale reading, people (including myself from time to time) get really discouraged when they do all this work and then get on the scale and they haven't lost very much, I would recommend getting a trainer or a friend to take some measurements of you, bust, hips, waist, abdomen, thigh, and neck, and then try to get a body fat reading that is accurate, I believe there is a formula that you can use while taking some measurements to get that (google), and then keep track of those, because you're usually going to see results in the measurements alot sooner than you will on the scale, Steve always says to use the reflection in the mirror, how ur clothes fit, etc...before concentrating directly on the scale...don't get discouraged and keep kickin ass!

Thanks, FG.

Yah, I know you're right. Scales aren't the best to go by.

It's just, I can't even see the difference when I look in the mirror. My husband and Mother tell me they can see a difference already, but I can't.

Ah well, I'll stick with it. And hopefully with another 7lbs loss, I will see the results.

String a few more good days together and you will see those results!
I say figgure what you would have spent on the smokes for a month and if you go for a month without them.Plan on buying something for yourself with that money. It will give you a nice thing to focus on. Great job on the workouts!

yeah... i know exactly what you mean about seeing results... im down about 15 pounds... and nothing =T (its horrible... i was wearing pants sooooo small for me that i cant even tell if they are getting loser... because they are still kinda tight xD... awful i know =P )

omgosh but i figure give it another month or soo and we will be feeling the change girl^^ its just important to stick with it!!! =D

One step forward and two steps back.

Man, I feel guilty even if I eat a slice of bread. SO what WAS I thinking when I got a burger? I'm SOOOOO angry at myself.

Well done quitting the smokes and going to the gym :)

don't be to hard on yourself, we all have little blips along the way.

she is right you know?!
this isnt a diet, its a lifestyle change... you cant be perfect always
you should enjoy foods.. and at least you didnt eat 3 burgers!

Hey Jugs. Love the name! :biggrinjester:

First of all, major congrats on quitting your smoking habit. I used the Quitnet forums when I quit smoking and they had a quitting calculator you could use to see your quit progress. I still check mine periodically. Here are my current stats...

Time Smoke-Free: 3117 days, 22 hours, 20 minutes and 22 seconds
Cigarettes NOT smoked: 62359
Money Saved: $9,351.00

I've probably saved more than $10K seeing as how cigarettes are always going up in price.

As for your recent burger, let it go :). Always keep in mind that days, weeks and months of progress are not ruined by a day of mishaps. And I agree with Truesylver and AngelicaHope... this is a lifestyle change. Nothing wrong with making room in your meal plan for the foods you really like to eat :D

Keep up the great work!

Hey Jugs... A buger? Hell I was on a 13 hours car trip today that had a stop at an all you can eat Chinese buffet....

Uggh... it didn't go well...

Don't be too hard on yourself, hun, just get back on track.
