Well let me start by I've been on my share of diets in the past, and went from 214 pounds (size 14/16) to a wonderful 149 (8/10)! I found a new great boyfriend, who has a naturally ripped body and can eat whatever he wants. Therefore whenever he eats, I eat. I have this sense where I think "I have found my love and I don't need to worry about what I look like" but of course I want to look my best for him and for myself! I was enjoying all those cute clothes I could wear. No more size 8's now! I am just in a 10 now and they're a little snug. I have creeped my way up to 160 pounds now! I am NOT going back to where I started! So now is my journey to get my butt back in gear. Today I weighed in at 160, and today so far I have eaten a chicken salad on a pita which was EXCELLENT!:hurray: Along with that I had a water, fruit salad, and some garden salsa sun chips. That was my lunch. Tonight i'm not sure what's for dinner but i'll post up later! I plan on exercising for about 30 minutes tonight (20 minutes on the treadmill, and 10 on the elliptical). I seem to lose weight easy until I get to the 149 area then I plateau, so i'm sure it will be easy to get back down there, and then I will be stuck again. We'll see! Alls I know is that I want to get in those short shorts and cute tanks! I miss my size 8...and hope for a 6!! I'm excited to read everyone elses diarys and see what you are all doing for your weight loss. I really love this site and think its great!

Wow! Congrats on the weight loss so far! I'm the same way with my boyfriend. We've been dating for 3 years now, and I'm completely comfortable with him, but I still want him to think I look sexy. Your lunch sounds delicious by the way. It reminds me that I haven't eaten chicken salad for a long time. That's going to have to change soon.

Your goal sounds like mine. I want back into my short shorts, and cute little tank tops, only without my belly flab. I can't even lay on the bed, and suck in the gut to get my shorts on...BUT...I am determined to be able to wear them by the end of the summer, even if it's just one day :D

they say admitting you have a problem is the first step, well, I'm on to step 2 and with some determination, WE can and will be able to wear our shorts...:party:
 
Well last night went well! I had chicken for dinner (downfall was it was fried) with honey, rice, and pineapple. I had some ice cream and it was the light kind. I exercised for 30 minutes doing cardio, and then did my ab lounge, and a lot of leg and arm work to get burning! Later on I went to someones house and they offered me a klondike bar =\ You can guess my answer :(:blush5: Well thats all for yesterday. I didn't feel like it was a terrible day!

NOW ON TO TODAY!

I woke up and had another chicken salad on a pita, with fruit salad and tostitos, along with iced tea. I just love the pitas! But I have to space them out so I dont get sick of them lol. I have work at 4, and some cleaning to do around the house and then get ready so i'm not sure if I will have time to exercise before work :( Not sure whats going on for dinner but I know i'll be eatting at work so I will probably get something around..Not sure. UGH then I have a cookout to go to later. This day doesn't sound promising!! Maybe i'll just have some steak cubes and skip the chips and goodies. Easier said then done lol. Well i'll write back later!!:waving:

P.S. I was dissapointed when I woke up and was the same weight as yesterday! 160 =\ I was hoping for 159.5. Oh well, maybe tomorrow=)

Not going out to each so much..Packing lunches for road trips instead of stopping through drive thrus. Drinking Iced Tea and Water only.

I lost the weight and have gained 10 back since I have been with my boyfriend because we eat too much.

Starving myself because I was always dizzy and hungry and would soon just eat everything in sight

Yea I did but I didnt like it

I do not think that 3.89 pounds a week is a reasonable expectation at your comparitively low weight. It would be different if you weighed over 300 pounds - but thankfully you dont! I dont want you to set an unreasonable expectation and then get disheartened because it doesnt happen and give up on the whole project.

The first week of a diet you get a boosted weightloss due to water weight going. After that you will see various things getting mentioned as a healthy rate for weightloss. One and a half to two pounds a week is one expectation. It is human nature to read that as two pounds per week. I actually think that is generally a little high for your weight. The formula that I think is pretty good is 1% of bodyweight. A rate of 1.6 pounds per week over 10 weeks gives you 16 pounds. Even with the additional water weight - I think that you are looking at nearer 20 pounds in the timeframe that you mentioned.

That is a great weightloss - and one that you will really notice when you see the fit of your clothes. You will feel so much better. Since it brings you a loss of over 10% of your bodyweight - you should feel much healthier too.

A longer project would give you the 40 pounds that you desire. It really is not worth trying to go on some unhealthy crash diet as you want to look healthy and slimmer - not like you are wasting away due to illness or anything.

YAY 2.5 pounds down so far!! 157.5! I was happy to see that number today! I have been working out 30 minutes a day (cardio) and doing my ab lounge and lots of leg and arm work. I've also been playing Wii LOL which seems to get me moving hahah!! Even all of my family enjoys playing it and they said their arms get sore and they get a little workout with the tennis and boxing lol.

I just found out yesterday were going on a cruise on October 19th and my boyfriend is coming with us so by then I would like to be at least 135 if not lower so I look hot in a bikini infront of him haha!! I hope that is reasonable.

Also I absolutely LOVE ice cream and strawberry shortcake...are those TERRIBLE for you?!?? I hope not because I dont want to give them up!!

I can't wait to get to the 149 point again!!!!:party:
 
AHHH I went back up today to 158.5:banghead: I am pi**ed off and discouraged!! Whatever..vacation is coming in 3 1/2 months and I want to look good so i'm not going to go eat crap food just because I feel like crap. On with the day!! Ill write back later to see how the day goes.

My boyfriend and I on a happy note just got a sweet little hampster! Hahah so that made my day much better! :hurray:

Starting to get very mad now!! 159 today...Ive been exercising and not overeatting so I am getting annoyed. Do I have to STARVE MYSELF TO GET DOWN AGAIN? Ill see what happens tomorrow I guess. I hope and pray this works.
 
What you're seeing is random water weight fluctuation. Some of it is hormonal (I get that twice a month, most women get away with once a month), some of it is diet-related (sodium is a big water-retention trigger for many people), some of it is exercise-related (doing strength work will sometimes cause short-term water retention).

Don't beat yourself up over random water weight fluctuation. You have little or no control over it and it's not fat.
 
Haven't weighed myself latley. I've been feeling like literal crap. I just started about 2 weeks ago a new contraceptive pill and it is not agreeing. I am tired all day, moody, always have a headache and pretty much have been sleeping all day. Needless to say, i'm getting off of that tonight. Also my calves are SO soar from the Wii Fit and I can barely walk! I haven't exercised in a few days. I really need to get my butt in gear because I feel like crap. Bleh I think the eating has something to do with how I feel too. Lets hope tomorrows a good start up again.

Haven't posted in about a week or so. I've been walking 2 miles on the treadmill about 4.2 mph speed and a 2.5 incline, and .5 miles on the eliptical trainer. I do this 5 times a week about. Eating is good until late nights I am terrible at. For instance, yesterday my eating was perfect, but then later on I went to my boyfriends brothers house around 11pm and they had dominos with cinnamon sticks..I had one piece and two bread sticks which still had probably A TON of calories and was bad. I hate the tempting things in life!
 
Even though I am obsessed with weighing myself everyday and even more than once a day, I am only going to post my weight on here every 10 days. Starting today! Of course though I will still be weighing every day and updating my ticker if it goes down lol I love seeing that go down.

So today was a good day I think!

I had some fruit salad to tide me over for lunch, and then for lunch I had a little bit of pasta salad, a pack of grilled cheese crackers that are 200 cals a pack, and strawberries. Water with that too. I had one vanilla cookie too lol I couldn't resist. For supper, I had chinese, but barely ate it because it made me sick. I had a few pieces of chocolate (about 150 cals I consumed..just guessing), and lastly for a snack I had a 90 calorie special k bar.

I have a question...how are you supposed to count calories on things like the pasta salad, and chinese? Because they don't have labels you know? Do you just estimate?

I just got done with my workout now. 2 miles on the treadmill, and .5 miles on the elliptical. 390 calories burned.

161 still today...I'm at a stand still. I love food too much. I dont enjoy exercising..it's boring. This is why I am still, at 161 pounds today. =/

I use Fitday and pick the closest similar food, then go with what it tells me. Or if I know approximately what's in it, I can deconstruct it a bit to get my Fitday entries.

For instance, I have a standing lunch meeting twice a month at a Chinese buffet, where I always get about the same thing.

- spicy stir-fried string beans
- beef with broccoli, of which I pick out the broccoli, mushrooms, and beef
- soft serve with strawberries
- fortune cookie

My entry into FitDay looks like this:
Beans, string, green, cooked, from fresh, fat added in cooking, 2 cup, fresh 154 cals
Broccoli, cooked, from fresh, fat added in cooking, 1 cup, NFS 77 cals
Mushrooms, cooked, from fresh, fat added in cooking, 0.5 cup 38 cals
Beef steak, breaded or floured, baked or fried, lean only eaten, 0.25 cup, cooked, diced 93 cals [I know that Chinese restaurants velvet their beef, which involves dredging in cornstarch and soft-frying, so I pick this as the closest approximation]
Ice cream, soft serve, flavors other than chocolate, 0.25 cup 87 cals
Strawberries, frozen, sweetened, sliced, 0.25 cup, thawed 61 cals
Cookie, fortune, 1 cookie 30 cals

Total (for one plate of food, no rice, and a soup cup half-full of dessert): 540 calories
 
Yay! Today I weighed in at 159 pounds. :hurray: I am so happy to be back in the 150's. Instead of doing my 2 miles and .5 on the eliptical, I switched back to my old routine, which is 20 minutes on the treadmill, 10 on the eliptical, and 10 on the bike. I bought 8 pound weights a couple days ago because I felt my 5 pound ones were easy. Even with the 3 pound difference, it really hurts!! Leg lifts and situps as well, and some pilates leg work too. Eatting is good, could be better! I just had a bowl of cheerios (honey nut lol) for breakfast. I plan on working out in a little too, then off to work at 6.
 
PS time is a tickin!!! Less than 3 months until vacation..I am so worried and anxious I need this weight off!!! Lol! That is my motivation..I keep saying "Oh tomorrow is another day i'll workout tomorrow.." but that can't be happening anymore I told myself because every day is closer to the swimsuit!!
 
Heres a tip to your workout woe's. As soon as you think about doing it... strap on your shoes and make your way over to the machines. DONT THINK TWICE. That is what gets everyone. Just get some willpower going. You can do it.
 
YAY I can't even believe it BUT!!!! All together today, I have eaten 1002 calories!! That is under my target calories for the day! And, I exercised 40 minutes today doing cardio, situps and arm work, and my wii fit!! Today was a fabulous day!! Here is my menu of food for today.

Breakfast:

Skim Milk = 86 Calories
Honey Nut Cheerios = 135 Calories

Supper

2 Pieces of Italian Bread, 80 calories each = 160 Calories
Mayonnaise 1 Tablespoon = 90 Calories
Chicken = 95 Calories
Popcorn = 100 Calories
Iced Tea = 100 Calories
Pears = 60 Calories
Handfull of Doritos = 100 Calories
Pineapple Cup = 76 Calories

TOTAL CALORIES = 1002 Calories

**I woke up today at 1:30PM because I had a late night..so thats why there is only breakfast and supper. I ate "breakfast" at 2:00 and then supper at 6.

I have about 198 calories to spare..or a little more :D
