Journey, Not A Destination

That's wishful thinking. Our last "significant" snowfall the weathermen reported was supposedly on Saturday.

It snowed less than a quarter inch.

They're extremely competent.

I'm suprises that guys who make a living doing snow removal haven't gone down to one of their weather stations and crashed their snow plows right through the damn doors!

We got about 5" yesterday and another 5 -6 is expected today...

So that could head in your direction

No. It won't.

People all around us have gotten snow. People 45 minutes in certain directions from where I am.

Where I live including areas to the south and east don't get snow anymore though.

It gets as cold and dreary as it possibly can while still disallowing any precipitation falling to be of the frozen variety.

Makes for pretty miserable atmosphere.

On the first day of school a first grade teacher explains to her class that she is a Cowboys fan.

She asks her students to raise their hands if they, too, are Cowboys fans.
Wanting to impress their teacher, everyone in the class raises their hand except one little girl.

The teacher looks at the girl with surprise, 'Janie, why didn't you raise your hand?'

‘Because I'm not a Cowboys fan,' she replied.

The teacher, still shocked, asked, 'Well, if you are not a Cowboys fan, then who are you a fan of?'

'I am an Eagles fan, and proud of it,' Janie replied.

The teacher could not believe her ears. 'Janie, please tell me why you are you an Eagles fan?'

'Because my mom is an Eagles fan, and my dad is an Eagles fan, so I'm an Eagles fan too!'

'Well,' said the teacher in a obviously annoyed tone, 'that is no reason for you to be an Eagles fan. You don't have to be just like your parents all of the time. What if your mom were an idiot and your dad were a moron, what would you be then?'

'Then,' Janie smiled, 'I'd be a Cowboys fan.'

A Eagles fan liked to amuse himself by scaring every Cowboys fan he saw strutting down the street in an obnoxious Blue & White shirt. He would swerve his van as if to hit them, then swerve back just missing them.

One day while driving along, he saw a priest. He thought he would do a good deed, so he pulled over and asked the priest, 'Where are you going, Father?'
'I'm going to give Mass at St. Francis church, about two miles down the road,' replied the priest.

'Climb in, Father. I'll give you a lift!' The priest climbed into the passenger seat, and they continued down the road.

Suddenly, the driver saw a Cowboys fan walking down the road, and he instinctively swerved as if to hit him. But, as usual, he swerved back onto the road just in time.

Even though he was certain that he had missed the guy, he still heard a loud THUD. Not knowing where the noise came from, he glanced in his mirrors but still didn't see anything.

He then remembered the priest, and he turned to the priest and said, sorry Father, I just missed hitting that Cowboys fan.'

'That 's OK,' replied the priest 'I got him with the door.'

I love that joke :) I've heard it with other teams though... but cowpie hating is always good :)

I was doing nothing but strength training for so long and was being lax with mobility and conditioning work.

Now I'm feeling the synergistic effects of everything pieced together. It's a good thing.

Good news! :hurray: Eh-too bad about the finance test, hope it's not TOO important.

Thanks Val.

Today was upper body strength...

Front Squats (very light) 4x6 @ 135
Rack Pulls 3x6 @ 275
Bulgarian BB Split Squats 3x5 @ 45
Pullthroughs 3x10 @ 50
Reverse crunches 3x12

Body is feeling very good. Tomorrow will be a long bout of outdoor steady state jogging on hilly terrain.

Love those thought provoking questions in your blog. I am going to redo my list soon and put it on my vision board. I'm feeling pretty motivated right now and want to keep up the momentum. You are such an amazing human being. Thanks for helping me pull my head out of my ass to see the bigger picture.

A couple of my fav's:
Why do I value being healthy and fit?
How do I want to be remembered?
Do I believe my goals are possible?
What preconceived notions do I have that are incorrect or a hindrance? (like, “there’s always tomorrow)

Oh, and I always smile when I read your work outs. Bulgarian what? hahah Where do you find these? Love it! I'm lacking weights right now in my routine. I need to come up w/the basic core exercises for each major muscle group so I can knock them out quickly each week on top of all the cardio I get in. That is going to be one of my goals....my legs are looking great w/the running, cycling, swimming, and yoga. I just need to tone the upper half now.

Thanks Melissa! And glad you could take something away from the article. :)

I don't make this stuff up, haha.

Can you fly out to Cali for a 1:1 personal training session? What will it cost me?

Ha!

Even though I would absolutely love to since I've never been to Cali and there are people there who I know I'd have a lot of fun with (a number here on this very forum)...

My schedule sucks right now. I shouldn't say that. Most of it is full of good stuff. But free time is something scarce.

I will say that Cali is a place I plan on visiting sooner than later and your arse better be available! And we'll hit up the gym too.

Today has been off to a rough start. Nothing serious, just a bunch of small issues here and there which tend to add up.

I'll be happy when I'm comfortably in bed cram studying for my exam tomorrow.

I'll be even happier after the exam when my 3 day weekend begins.

All the best.

Thanks Ryan, appeciate it. Thanks for stopping in!

No probs..I stop in a lot (not in a creepy stalker kinda way) I tend to just soak things in, Im still very much on a learning curve.

Also just wanna say thanks for the information you provide..it probably helps most of us out more than you know :patriot:

Well that I appreciate more than anything else. It's nice to hear there are people out there listening! If you ever have specific questions, or general even, you know where to find me.
