Journey, Not A Destination

Quotes and Randomness

People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can't find them, make them.

Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.

1. Here's today's random interesting blog:

2. I ran yesterday. It feels good to get back into running. I wouldn't label myself as a runner. I'm only doing 20-30 minutes twice per week. Anymore than that would make bulking next to impossible for me. But it feels good. I need to build some endurance in my legs for upcoming hikes. The weather and temps are perfect right now for running... it's nice to spend solitary time outside. :)

3. I believe there will be only one more entry in the blog with the Lyle interview. I already started interviewing Mike Vallely and to be honest, I'm not to happy with it so far. I'm not sure if it will make the blog or not... all depends on how he responds to the next round or two of questions.

Yuppers.

And if Armageddon is truly upon us as some loonies would like us to believe, well...

Then it's time for survival of the fittest.

And I've been training for that my entire life.

So cute, and it makes sense to me! I'm with ya on that one. Uh, huh huh, running really fast for long periods of time most likely would be a good attribute......perhaps I should practice running with my M1 on one shoulder and my .308 on the other? Actually, that might be pretty fucking cool! :D :p

You might get arrested too, lol.

I think if it came down to survival of the fittest, I'd try not to run much. Energy would be scarce so it would be all about stealth and power. Energy conservation would be of utmost importance.

BTW, I'm glad you're running again and it feels good. I ran that half marathon that Miss JB and Melissa did on Sunday, and it was amazing to me because I didn't know I could run that far with the pace I kept. Perhaps it was all the yuppies around me. I was no yuppie--I wore a BANDANNA, not a visor! ;)

Not in Boulder Creek! :D We do things a little differently in the backwoods, maihn ;)

Yes I thought about that--but sometimes you might not be able to hide...

Well I doubt I'll be doing any half or whole marathons soon. Not that I couldn't, it's just not my cup of tea. I did a mini triathlon a few years back and though it felt really good to do something like that... I'd simply rather be working on explosiveness.

My cardio now I enjoy. It feels good, it's brief and it's a nice time to reflect.

I heard it's great for, what is it? Fast twitch muscles, or something? And subsequently is good training for running--I'm back to reading the NSCA Handbook. I was getting a pedicure and the lady next to me asked me (as if I was a trainer, I was just reading) what exercises were good for her knee, after her surgery. I warned her I was just reading, but we looked up what she had and this and that, it was a positive experience for both of us :)

You're so cute with your "reflective and relaxing" cardio :D Whatever makes you happy, right?

Bulking is not my cup of tea. It was, though, once! :D

So would being a good marksman... bullets will eventually be at a premium, less wasted the better. :sifone:

Do you think you'll ever get around to taking that exam?

Tru dat.

I need to hit up the local target range.

Or just drive around offing people from a moving vehicle that happen to piss me off.

:p

I think so--I haven't made it a priority because I got side-tracked by getting my job back to full time, then getting the Saturday job pouring at the winery. But I LOVE to study and I LIKE to be able to help people. I also know I have a plethora of resources if i have any questions, on here :D It's a decision I'm considering in the next year or so. Also, I was considering going to India for a few months to study Yoga....that is just a thought at this point.

Your Armageddon talk reminds me of the 80s movie "Red Dawn." I can totally see you and Gordy drinking deer blood and pissing into your radiator...lmao. Oh yeah, and kicking some Commie ass as well. :D

I have a friend who recently went to India. It was dirty as hell. But an amazing experience he said.

Hahaha, I was thinking about this movie too when I was talking about this. That would be pretty exciting... but I'm sure it would get old quick.
