Journey, Not A Destination

Its good to see all is well steve. Im sure the tatooist can come up with something different!

I dont think you can get sued if its different but im sure you will check into it....I have noticed your business with your abscence from the forums! But everyone needs break and other things are way more important.

Thanks for filling us in man and best of luck to your site building.

Trevor

Thanks for stopping in man.

You should have like an anatomy section in the forum. :)

Haha - I love answering questions about human anatomy and how things function in that regard. After all, how the body functions is very important. How can you "Fix" your body if you don't understand?

We could talk about metabolic pathways including ATP resynthesis? Or how sodium and potassium ions travel down axons through RDR! Maybe have something on the immune system? I love the immune system!

That's too in depth for the people we'll be targeting. Our target audience is not professionals... it's people looking to meet a specific physique or fitness goal.

To be honest, I do not like that picture.

I'm not a huge fan of this exact picture myself. Do you not like the picture or do you not like the concept?

And let's not talk about that exact image.... I'm more interested in the concept of the image.... which I believe you are talking about Mal.

Also, we haven't really defined our target audience.... I mean I love working with people who have weight loss goals.... but that won't be our sole client group.

A little of both. That picture was originally written to depict the male proportions. Its a picture with regards to human anatomy. Hence, why it came to mind for me to ask for an anatomy section in the forums.

I just do not see its relevance in weight loss/exercise.

Personally - (and while I work in IT, I work for an ad agency so I spend a lot of time around design folks and listen a lot... ) the logo is too busy for me - and I know you don't want that exact image as your logo -i got that :) but your logo - in my mind - should say something about and represent what your product is... and I don't get what your focus is from that image...

And the cowboys logo is relevant to football how exactly?

And the eagles?

:p

Besides, it is believed that da Vinci created this to represent the ideal body proportions of a man. That's relevant in my mind to those looking to reach their ideal physique.

. We actually decided to go the route of designing the website ourselves. We were working with a designer/developer and it was just too much of a pain in the ass. So I decided to sign up to the homestead platform, which is an application that allows you to design websites without knowing all the code and language

Kudos on that by the way... :)

The biggest problem that non professional web developers run into is - overkill on the site - and they tend to make all web pages look like Myspace pages... Less is More and makes your point a lot better - it's the Just because you can - doesn't mean you should really applies... :) And I have faith in your level of taste t hat you won't run into that :D

We kind of wanted to think outside the box on the logo. I mean..... I didn't want the basic representation of what personal training is. Weights, food, blah blah blah.

I wanted something more artsy.

Maybe there is a way of combining the two. As I said before.... I'm not good at this stuff.

it's an Eagle :)

How many people will ever reach their ideal physique though... you're a lot of people's ideal; and you're still not satisfied... :) (and that's not a negative at all)

You're the one that has to like the logo :) a logo won't turn people away from a site... Site design - will :D but logo -not so much :D

Yea, if it were further along I'd post a link to it to get some more opinions... but I kind of want to wait for it to be a finished product. We've got a million people throwing opinions and ideas at us... it gets frustrating trying to weed out the good from the bad and there's a lot of second guessing going on.

But all that in mind... I truly appreciate everyone's opinions.

If you have time (Stop laughing) go to a library or a book store and flip thru books of stock photography -there might be somehting that just appeals to you - :)

I agree.

I want to like it.... love it actually.... all while being appealing to my audience as well though. So it obviously needs some work.... I'm just not sure which direction I'd want to take it.

I agree completely... have since we found it actually, that the picture is messy and cluttered..... but I liked the concept. It's a tough decision.....

I might just ask the tattooist for opinions as well before telling him to create something similar.

Isn't there something on the web similar?

I mean we looked at a bunch of pictures and honestly nothing catches my eye. What's frustrating is I can't describe something that would catch my eye either! Quite annoying.... I know.
