Journey, Not A Destination

'bout time - what are you at about 250 reputation points?

No, only a little over 100 or so.

On a serious note, I almost went into physical education. I wanted to be a gym teacher for this very reason. I saw the obesity epidemic starting with our youth. Misinformation and lack of guidance being handed down from our parents and role models, and very little structure in the public school system with regards to education of healthy lifestyles.
Aye, aint that the truth. Ive had my eyed opened up in the last 8 months. I used to see a fat person and look away, now i see a fat person and i want to go up and shake some sense into them.
I understand though, its like a woman in a violent relationship, you cant force them to do what you want by telling them, they have to want to do it themselves as well :/

Ive seriously considered becomming a personal trainer - even have the course picked out. Only thing stopping me is lack of $ and 4 kids and lack of time etc etc ... :D
There is a night course though, it just takes a LOT longer :)

I think one of the main things trainers are lacking in general (besides knowledge pertaining to fitness and nutrition in most cases) is human development/psychology.

I always say, have to fix the mind before you can fix the body.

What PT course were you thinking about Wishes? There are so many out there, but only a handful that are reputable IMO. My favs are NSCA, ACSM, NASM.

About the gym teacher thing, I had a male gym teacher when I was 14 named Mr. Gingery, who wasn't as big as you, but he was in excellent shape and had big muscles. He was also very nice and mellow, and good looking, too. I didn't crush on him, though, BUT we always were friendly, and even when I was sitting by the back of the school, smoking weed, if I'd see him walking across the back quad I'm yell, "Hi Mr. Gingery!" and he'd always answer. He would stuff himself into nice suits and his muscles were a little too big for them, even though he was slim. It looked a little funny. But watching him lift weights one day inspired me to weight lift. God his face turned red!

Haha, I think if I was your gym teacher and I caught you smoking at school, I would put you through a weight training session along side of me. Teach what real pain feels like. ;)

And I am probably not as big as you think.
