Journey, Not A Destination

Good Morning Handsome Nekkid Chest Man :)

I just read a few pages back and saw the close call you had - geesh!
It is odd thinking of all the online people who would be left wondering what happened to so & so!

Keep safe,

Thanks Deb. :)

Just stopped by to say hello. I hope you have a great rest of the week!

Casey

I just noticed how many "guests" are browsing the site right now. It is amazing how few quality weight loss forums there are on the web. These people better get to joining, the more the merrier. :)

if you have the heart, knowledge, and willpower... changing your habits is the name of the game.

So true. For the first four months, I literally dragged myself to the gym every day. Then it became a habit. Then I actually started enjoying some of it.

Steve, hope you don't mind, but I've got another question.

My wife needs to lose about 20 lbs., so I put her on a program very similar to mine, except with much lower weights, of course.

When it came to squats, she had a problem. She's always had week knees, and she didn't want to go down very far. She just had the bar on her shoulders, but about 15 degrees above parallel, she stopped.

Is that OK to keep the squats in the routine, and just go down that far? Or should we find a replacement?

a lot of the guests are seach engine spiders and such - not actual real people.. :)

Keep posting pictures - people will want to be closer to yor nekkidness :) and yodaness too :)

What do you mean she has "weak knees"? Has she just always had chronic pain? Has certain activities initiated the pain? Did she try deep squats?

I will post more pics when there is improvement in physique. Improvements are slow coming at the moment. ;)

Her knee popped out once in college, and she's been afraid to push it ever since. She said her knee started hurting as she approached parallel.

Have you ever heard of the chiropractic technique called ART?

ART - no, I haven't. I just did a quick Google on it and found a reference to a chiro doing ART with kettle balls. Is that what you mean? Can you recommend a good site to learn more about it?

It has been around for a years, but it is just now gaining popularity. And there is good reason for it. Science backs the technique up. I know first hand how much good it can do for someone. I have chronic pain in 2 of my joints from previous injuries, and ART has been the only remedy. I have also suffered acute injuries in 2006, one of them being a partial tear of my hamstring. ART had me back in the game in no time.

The main site for it is:

It will tell you a little bit about it. It will also allow you to search for a provider in your area. Not many chiros are getting certified in it simply b/c it is difficult and expensive. But you can be assured that if you find one that has taken the time to get certified, he is a quality doc.

Yep. That is exactly what I did.

You say you felt like you could have bumped up the intensity of the sprint portion. If that is the case, do so. I like to keep sessions of HIIT no longer than 20 minutes, excluding warm up and cool down.

Personally, my sessions of HIIT last around 12-15 minutes as of late.

I really appreciate the compliment. Feel free to cruise through my journal! Thanks for all the sound advice you've given throughout the forum.
