Journey, Not A Destination

Holy Hell Steve...I don't know whether to call you crazy or amazing...how about both! I had no idea your journey to the top would be so adventurous. I have to admit, if I were your wife I would kick your ass the moment you told me what happened....then I'd congratulate you and tell you to never do that again. haha

You put my little backpacker excursions to shame! But somehow you seem to like the extremes I suppose. What's life w/out a little bit of danger mixed in right? If it was too easy no one would do it.

So in this 3 man tent were you stuck in the middle? hahaha

And yes, I have to agree w/the ladies...I've never seen so many bulging muscles in one picture before. Is that you w/the shirt off? Thanks for posting those :)

Ha, you and me both! I had NO clue. I must've missed that memo!

That is what she said, actually. I said in response, "I guess I should wait to tell you then, that we'll be doing the same hike next year in the winter time."

She's a worrier but I've always been the adventurous type so she's aware what's on her hands. :p

Right.

Honestly, the entire experience opened up my world. I don't think it needed opening... as it wasn't closed. But I believe all our worlds can always open a bit. I know it's a fresh adventure but I am certainly seeing things in a different light. Plus, I had hours upon hours on those mountains for self-reflection, which I felt I needed. I'm feeling more centered.

Nope... I specifically moved my bag from the middle. I didn't feel like being stuck in the middle unable to move. Little did I know that it would be so tight that none of us could move an inch. That's an understatement.

No, I tend to keep my shirt on on most occasions, unless I'm at the beach. I hate showing off.

Gordy on the other hand....

Hahahaha

That would be Gordy, my best friend and business partner.

Plus it wasn't that damn warm!

Decades from now, this will be Steve:

:D

I can only cross my fingers and hope.

You need quite the resume to climb it. But the plan is to build that up over the next 5 years or so. I'm up for the challenge, that's for damn sure. It's just going to take some time to train.

Thanks Liz, for taking the time to read it. I think everyone should do the hike when and if they're ready. Or something like it at least. So awesome.

you're so humble - that's cute.. .:D

if'n ya got it - flaunt it :D

naw -i like the humbleness. it's endearing... :D

Gordy isn't shy... :D

I've always been that way. I suppose it's a carryover from when I was a skinny turd. Though I know I'm not like that anymore.... it's just very few people are lean nowadays and when I take my shirt off it's always stares and/or questions. I just feel more comfortable in my shirt.

I didn't say it was a bad thing.. it's just one fo the things that makes you - the you that you are.. :D

though if you wear one of those silly looking super tight abercrombie and fitch shirts that leave nothing to the imagiation then -well - we're gonna have words.. :D becuase those look silly..

Hahahaha, that would be the day.

I stopped wearing A&F in 9th grade.

As soon as I find a quality shirt I like for our company shirts, that's probably all I'll wear outside of the office or gym.

This diary is steamy...love it. Glad you made it home safe. Doing it again next year ehh? Well at least next year you know what to expect and can prepare accordingly. I don't think it will ever be "easy" per say but at least you can bring bolt cutters and a fire starter kit. LOL

To be honest, I don't think I could have prepared much better. Maybe one or two more articles of clothing to keep the snow out... I believe they're called gators. But beyond that, when you get stuck in a storm like that, there's not much you can do.

Next year will be a different hike all together since we're planning on doing it in the dead of winter.

so in fact we wernt far wrong in the assumption of you guys playing brokeback mountain then were we! 3 hot guys in a 2 man tent stripped off nearly naked!

You are absolutely mad!! There is no way in hell I would ever....

:biggrinjester:

You better not kill yourself next winter, b/c then who will we all drool over here? C'mon now--stop thinking of yourself. :D

I'd eat Gordy before I died, lol.

That reminds me of that movie "Alive." :)

Glad you made it back off that mountain safe and the experience was good enough that you want to do it again :) As for me I don't think I'd do well sleeping in a tent in the snow... but that is just me :)
