Journey, Not A Destination

a few years ago I was at a conference in Scottsdale Arizona and played at this beautiful course - our tee time was 6:00am - because of the heat - they had no tee times after 11:00am because it's just too damn hot to play :D

lol, that sounds about right. I know a couple of summers back, me and some friends went to the course at noon. 110 degrees...the guy we paid to play was worried we were going to die in the weather..so he provided us with free refreshments.

He was right, about 3 holes in, we were already dead tired...usually no one ever finishes all the holes before taking a break, but i did see an older gentlemen literally soaked in his shirt on the 18th hole..i was worried

So I got the logo for our company yesterday. I'm not sure how exactly I want to use it yet on the website, but we're thinking about getting some T shirts made this weekend.

I'm really happy with how it turned out. Though I'd like to see it against a few different backgrounds and I'm having problems with that since it's not a solid image.

Today is my first off day from lifting and I'm beat. Low cals and carbs with back-to-back depletion workouts suck.... flat out. I might go for a jog tonight after I get done cooking meats and grocery shopping. I have to stock up for my refeed which starts tomorrow!!!! I'll start it when I get down to the hockey game.... can anyone say soft pretzels. :)

There are some music fests coming up this weekend... Nophest and the Sweetwater 420 festival. Warming up quite nicely and very beautiful, but otherwise same shit different day. Lots of ppl hitting the gym with summer coming up... although after how hot it was last summer, I'm not sure how people can physically withstand getting their ass handed to them at the gym and then walking out into 100+ weather.

I can't wait for summer. I'm so sick of being cooped up inside. It is getting very nice out though. It's in the 70s here this week. That's my ideal weather... not too hot, but warm enough that you enjoy being outside.

It's supposed to get up to 65 today. 70s are too hot for me if I plan to be exercising, but usually I exercise at night when it's cooler (and nobody can see me) anyways.

I'm not looking forward to the full heat of summer though.

60s are good for exercising outdoors. Though I don't do much of that anymore.... that's why I like the 70s. 60s tend to be a little to chilly to be stationary outside for me.

I'm a great big wimp though.

Don't you get bored looking at the same people, and the same stuff all day? That's why I'll really only swim indoors, and not much else. And because they have windows from the pool that allow me to see the guys working out in the gym upstairs. What a wonderful place.

Oh, haha, trust me, I don't do much cardio indoors. I tend to be very active by nature so I just don't do much in terms of strict cardio. I lift weights consistently. Sometimes I even turn my weight lifting bouts into cardio bouts, even though it's still all lifting.

Beyond that I play a lot of sports, do a lot of hiking, etc, etc....

Mostly non-traditional forms of exercise.

Hiking is great :)
Are you big on camping? I think it's one of my favorite things to do with good company.

I do enjoy camping.

In a month or so, a little over, a group of us will be hiking to the top of Mt. Washington. There will be camping involved.

I just like outdoors in general.

I cannot wait to hear about this adventure when you get back... it really is a beautiful place you're going to... New Hampsters are kind of mutant freaks but they make nice mountains :D

I hear the time of year we're going is mudslide season.

And supposedly there's a very slim chance we'll be able to see anything beyond 15 feet in front of our faces.

the mudslides should come a little later - you'll still have lots frozen at the higher elevations... though mid may is usually pretty good for white water rafting -because you get the run off from the snowon themountains...
