Journey, Not A Destination

I guess worst case scenario.... this isn't all that expensive and if it turns out that it doesn't work out for later use on t-shirts and stuff, it's our picture... we can just take it to a graphic designer and have them re-do it as needed.

I don't think it will be an issue on our website since the logo is relatively small

Exactly. I was not trying to scare you or anything. If you really like what he has done and he has vector files super! If you like it and he has raster, it is not the end of the world. Just take into account that for most applications it will require a little bit more time and or money to make it usable.

Quotes & Ramblings

Habits of thought persist through the centuries; and while a healthy brain may reject the doctrine it no longer believes, it will continue to feel the same sentiments formerly associated with that doctrine.

Many people have a wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness. It is not attained through self-gratification, but through fidelity to a worthy purpose.

So I didn't get my logo this weekend. I did see it and both Gord and I really loved it. But he has to shrink it down and put it on a disk yet. I didn't get into all the technicalities we discussed in here about file type. I simply asked if he thought I'd have a problem with distortion when blowing up or shrinking down the image.... he said I should be able to shrink it down to business card size as well as blow it up to t-shirt size without any issues. That was good enough for me considering he only charged us 250 bucks.

I start my new diet today. Menu will look something like this monday - wednesday:

Meal 1:

3 egg whites with 1 serving fat free cheese melted
1 serving green beans, cold
1 scoop whey mixed in water
1 serving olive oil
2 fish oils

Meal 2:

4oz ground turkey breast with 1 serving fat free cheese melted
1/2 serving beef jerky
1 serving broccoli
2 fish oils

Meal 3:

5oz cajun chicken breast
1 serving green beans
1 apple
2 fish oils

Meal 4:

Wild card of protein (either one of the above meats or some sort of beef, fish or pork)
1 serving spinach with low calorie/carb dressing
2 fish oils

Meal 5:

PB&J sandwich

**********

The workout today will be absolutely brutal.... high reps, high volume, low rest all on low carb.

It will look something like this and I'll go through the circuit twice:

Leg Press - 3x15
Leg Curl - 3x15
Leg Extension - 1x15
Seated Leg Curl - 1x15
Hammer Strength Bench - 3x15
Hammer Strength Row - 3x15
DB Lateral Raises - 2x15
DB Curls - 2x15
Cable Pressdowns - 2x15
Calves - 3x15

And then back through once more.

Rest intervals will be 45-60 seconds.

Sounds like a tasty menu :)

Glad you and Gordy liked the logo - it's good when you can be in agreement over stuff like that :) awesomeness - :D

How many calories a day does that amount to - or are you more about the carbs than the calories...

What do you put the pb&j on? your fingers? :D

It's about 1700 calories. The pb&j is on whole wheat bread. :) I sort of kept my carbs lower than prescribed on a per-meal-basis so that I could throw that treat in there at the end of the day. I don't have cravings on low carb until night time, so that's why I did that.

Wow... 1700 is LOW! Considering almost 80 calories are coming from fish oils alone. BTW, I never count my supplements in my calories for the day. Generally speaking, I don't do that because I never factor in the thermogenic effects of foods anyways... so I have about 5-10% of wiggle room.

Yea, real low. It's supposed to be lower actually.... supposed to be about half of maintenance, which for me is roughly 3k calories. Remember though, it's only Monday - Thursday.

Real low especially when you factor in that I'll be doing more cardio than normally, which has been zero as of late.

I still can't believe over 10% of your cals are from FISH OILS! That's INSANE!

Oh he'll be whining that he's on a plateau soon enough :)

Hahaha, you'll never hear me whine about that. If I'm truly plateaued, I actually enjoy the process of figuring out how to combat the issue. Although on this sort of diet, plateaus in weight are common since you are dealing with extremes and all sorts of things can screw with weight.

As long as the fat is coming off and the diet is doing what it's intended to do.... I'm happy.

I knew that, punkin', I was just givin you the bizness :D

They're not.

8 pills at 10 calories per pill puts me at 80 calories. 80/1700 is a little less than 5%.

Duh, for some reason, I thought you were taking 16 fish pills... oops.

Do you ever take into thermogenic effects of foods when you try these crazy extremes? Actually... do you ever take them into account when just doing regular maintenance?

Morning Steve! So when you go live with your website, is it going to be a forum like this or are you and Gordy trying to start a training business or both?

Fuck no.

I'm not a precise person at all and I think trying to be that precise is stupid.

It's as simple as this. I calculate my maintenance with the most rudimentary of equations: 16 calories per pound of body weight.

That has all that shit factored into it.... bmr, activity, tef, etc, etc.

This puts me at about 3000 calories. I'm eating 1700 but doing cardio. I can usually maintain on 3k with no cardio. So I'm probably close to right. Right being half of maintenance.

Simple as that.

Great, Steve thinks I am stupid....

I live by equations because I am a math teacher. I love figuring shit out... it's fun to do proportions and calculations. It validates my lifestyle for some reason... is it probably too complicated for some? Yeah... probably is. Does it work for me? Yup!
