Journey, Not A Destination

Okay Steve, you could be my twin brother, I do the EXACT same thing, and well even though I could own this place, I'm not up for that, I do financial planning and training for about 250 brokers in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas and Kansas. Oh and I have one in PA too. I put together their portfolios and I help them come up with marketing plans and layouts for million dollar customers. It's a BLAST and I love what I do. Basically, I'm a Financial advisor Marketing manager.

I'm back on track big time.... totally amped up about making some headway in terms of progress. It's not as fun since along with a bulk comes some fat, and although I know I'm building muscle.... it's always more fun (for me anyways) being lean.

But it's all part of the process and I truly love the entire journey.

Oh wow, very cool. So what, do you do consulting for brokers? Are advisers/brokers your clients?

Yes, the advisors come to me and I put together the best fit for their clients, like marketing plans and I run all their illustrations and put together buy/sell agreements and all that other good stuff. SO yeah, the advisors are my clients. :) I also, run the FIXED side we are a broker/dealer office here, but we also run our own Brokerage company, so not only do I fit my Advisors with variable/investment vehicles, but I also am the brokerage manager for fixed business just in case somebody is in need for DI, LTC, Fixed LIFE, annuities, Index products etc....I represent about 20 different companies for the fixed side! This is what makes it so much fun, every day is never the same. Call me, JACK OF ALL TRADES!

GREAT! :jump:

:hug2: I also look forward to more progress..

My turtle steps are my own dog-gone fault for not taking more control over my life/routine..

I need to suck it up and dig in deep.

Gotcha.... very interesting.

We are a small, privately owned firm with roughly 500 clients. We focus most of our attention to the high net worth arena.... still in the very early stages in terms of growth.

It's been owned and operated by a sole individual for years, but again, another guy and myself will start buying into it come next year. It's pretty exciting as there is some HUGE potential here.

We'll see how it goes.

Yea, that's a good attitude. I think many people like to push the blame on:

I'm too hungry, busy, tired, etc.

Those just aren't good enough excuses for me, personally. I know what I want and I'm willing to do A LOT to get it. I'm not going to let a little pain (hunger, tiredness, business) stop me dead in my tracks. How bad I want it, and the pleasure that comes from this 'walk' is worth too much.

It's all about your focus.

YEP, your my twin brother that's for sure!! I feel the exact same way!

Yeppers!

My biggest thing holding me back is my insomnia..

Even though I'm up so late, it's up to ME to suck it up, set the alarm, get up and get my ass going..lol

Maybe then I could change my "inner-clock" and get sleepy at a respectable time.

I have not done that yet bc I keep givin' in sayin', "OMG, I need the sleep/rest."

Which I do of course, but what the hell do ya do when yer in a rut like that?

Answer: Suck it up! :rotflmao:

I hope to be a sucker soon! :D Just gotta put my mind to it.

Yes, it is freakin' horrible!!!

I've tried everything.. Even prescriptions won't work, they do the opposite and wire me up.

I'm so screwed up chemical wise bc of my ADHD/OCD/and Panic Attacks, I think that is the real source of it all.

I explain it as: My mind will not shut up! 1 million things are always on my mind.

I lead a very stressful life as well due to a ton of family problems..{Parents/siblings.}

I've been bad for almost a year now..

At most, I get 5 hours..

Most of the time it's 3-4 hours of sleep.

Wow, that's rough! I know some people who take various supps to help them sleep... if you're interested I can look deeper into the subject.

I think I'm an expert on things that do and don't help sleep :) dealing with insomnia on and off for the past 25+ years... :D some of the herbs - like valerian root aren't bad -but the stink is awful - melatonin some people have found relief with but it got me nowhere...- and if you're already on medication for various things - do ask a pharmacist about how the herbs can react...

bedtime stories are a good way to go - works with kids -works with adults -get someone with a good speaking voice - or a voice that's soothing to you - to record some of your favorite stories and listen to them as you're going to sleep -and set a specific bedtime... and stick with it -and make yourself get up at a specific hour in the am... you worsen the problem by sleeping late on nights you couldn't get to sleep...

some people find a snack of a slice or two of turkey help bring about sleep too... the tryptowhatevethehellthatchemicalis is supposed to aid in sleep
