Journal to a new life...

Ok, so after seeing some pictures of me now from a recent Christmas party (now a junior in college), and then coming across a picture from my Freshman year in colege...i got upset. I hadn't realized how much I let things go. I'm 6'3" and weight 250 pounds. I used to be a strong, solid, 200. It's amazing how much difference a severely hurt ankle and alter you. That got me outta of shape pretty quick, and just when I was about to recover, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Became a pretty rough time for us all and the address stress didn't help.

Now, I'm ready to make a change, get back to the way I was and even better.
Monday I started back to eating better, and working out. I didn't start the weight training yet because I had to plot it out.

Tuesday, I walked 3 miles. I felt good! And also ate much better.

Today...I got up, grabbed my ipod, cranked the "Breaking Benjamin" and jogged about a quarter a mile and walked the rest. Man, I feel out of shape!! But I'm gonna do get it back! Later this evening, I did upper body training. Feels good to be doing this again. I just hope I can keep the motivation for the long haul. I'm really impatient, so I just need to keep reminding myself it doesn't happen overnight. I also got a buddy of mine at school to be my workout partner while we are there. Hopefully that will help.

Wish me luck guys. Bring on that Christmas food! I'm gonna kick it's ass. :D

****Current Weight - 250...

Next weigh in - Tuesday the 26th.

Keep up the good work. I loved college. There were always a million people to work out with. Sounds like you've got the right idea on getting into the jogging. I went out and just ran a mile straight out one time and I was so sore it was pitiful. The next time I decided to jog I did what you are doing. Before you know it you'll be up to a couple of miles. Keep up the good work and stay focused. Good luck, Greg

Thursday, my jogging plans got altered by weather. Grr to the rain. So I resorted to do about 30 minutes of taebo. I ate really well yesterday too. And I feel great so far! =)

So Friday, rain kept me from running again!!! But I did some cardio aerobics/kickboxing to make up for it.

Saturday, a friend of mine who had run Cross Country for years, decided to pick it back up and is helping me become a better runner. The methods were much easier and I lasted a lot longer than I usually do! Felt great!!! Got me excited about becoming a good runner. That evening I did upper body weight training

Sunday and Monday, Sunday is my rest day, and I prepared ahead and did pretty well on the eating of Christmas Eve dinner! Today however was another story! haha being Christmas, I had a big breakfast, and a big dinner! So i kinda over did it, but hell, its Christmas!!!

Tomorrow is weigh-in day/jogging/upperbody day! I'm not expecting too much because of the holidays, but who knows! Wish me luck!
